Sandbanks beaches are gorgeous - our favorite was Sandbanks beach. Campgrounds in River Outlet A campground provide enough privacy (except for the ones that are right across the road from the beach), facilities are moderately clean. The only sad part of this trip was a high level of bacteria in the beach of Outlet River campground - swimming is not... More

Sandbanks is wonderful! Didn't think I'd enjoy a beach in Ontario but here it is. Clean and sandy and most of all, it has waves!! Love it and will be back. Was here in summer of 2015.

Great spot for hiking sand dunes. Beautiful beaches. Ample parking. Picnic facilities need to be upgraded

The provincial park is a good day trip from the city. For $17 the family could enter and park for the whole day, and we saw families carry in picnic suppers after the work day, too. Even on a windy afternoon, the waves at Sandbanks were fine and the water was shallow for young kids... perfect kite-flying weather. Teenagers would... More

We had never been there, when drove in , we were ok, just like any other provincial park, as soon as we walked in the beach we were wowed, I mean it was a perfect day, not too hot not too crowed , and the sand is fine and whitish, a long and wide beach front ( Outlet beach). The... More

I would first say that I recommend to go to Sandbanks Provincial Park. I loved the experience for the beaches. The only thing we disliked was the Richardson's campground for these reasons: * No intimacy. Our site was in the middle of 6 other sites and there were nothing to give us a little bit of intimacy. No trees, nothing.... More

Although very busy in mid-summer, this Ontario Provincial Park profiles unusual geological features, which are a delight to those who like "beaching", walking through open and forest trails, bird watching, wildflower photography, and to serve as a base for local visits outside the park. Lovely campsites at the Woodlands camp. Clean and efficient showers and toilets. Well worth the visit... More

My boyfriend and I visited sandbanks, it was absolutely beautiful I had never known such places excited in Ontario. The park was family friendly and interesting to see. It's one of the things you need to see in Ontario. A great family trip for the day too

Walk through dunes north and then west to the extremely long (5 km or more) mostly secluded "Sandbanks" beach is fantastic. Almost no humans in sight. Even though forbidden, naturism is practiced there. Trails throughout park are nice. "Outlet" beach is a party beach -- long (but only couple kms) and very wide.

Ontario has done a very good job in its national parks. Sandbanks is no exception good parking, clean toilets, nice cafes and easy access to the beach. We spent a lovely day here on the sand and playing in the lake water which was warm and looked clean. It was a little expensive but we would go back again so... More
