The shop is small so be prepared at peak season for shoulder to shoulder experiences. Samplings of local as well imported cheeses available.

On a trip exploring the areas wineries and attractions, our son and partner took us to this delightful artisan cheese production and retail facility. We were impressed by the great variety of cheese on display and the numerous kinds laid out for us to sample. This retailer is very proud of their product and wanted to show everyone the quality... Some fantastic local cheeses. Stop in and try them all - you will no doubt find a new favourite. Tons of samples as well as a selection of preserves and salamis.

We are from Montreal and have family in the county. We've gone to Fifth town since the opening with the previous owner. We've been avid advocates of the products. We love their cheese then and love it now. We went a couple times since the new ownership and had the feeling of bothering the staff. We like to taste and... More

We were recommended by our Airnb host. We were told the close at 5, like most businesses in the county. So we race down the county roads, it is farther than we thought, it was more than 30mins drive. We almost miss the place if we did not keep our eyes on both sides. Coming from downtown Picton it is... More

We visited Prince Edward County recently and one of our destinations was Fifth Town Artisan Cheese. Following the instructions from my Google Map, I got to a certain point and the turn-off didn't exist. I tried again, to no avail. Then I tried to find County Road 8 from several directions. This all took about 1.5 hours and I finally... More

We always went to Fifth Town Cheese when in the County, however this past visits were with the original owner...who ran a top notch business This visit in Saturday, what a difference , when went I were told we could try some samples, some were merely crumbs on a tray...obviously picked over and not replenished. The crackers were sticks in... More

We visited this cheese shop in July 2016. As a group of avid cheese lovers, we were very excited to visit, sample and purchase. Much to our dismay, the person behind the counter was neither welcoming nor informative. Two of the members of our group cannot eat goat cheese and when they asked to sample the only cow cheese on... The Fifth Town Artisan Cheese is well worth a visit. The cheeses they have are simply amazing. We sampled a number of them and purchase about 5 different kinds. The young woman working the counter was very helpful and knowledgible. They also have a variety of goat, sheep and buffalo cheese for those who may be lactose intolerant. y

We visited this cheese place last August and couldn't get in the door. The sampling room/ retail store is so small it's hard to accommodate the large crowds during summer. Luckily we tried again this spring and we had the place to ourselves. Lots of cheese options you can try. Had a great experience overall and cheeses were great. Worth... More
