Our captain Bryan was great!! He loved the trip just as much as we did. Just to make sure we saw the big humback Pinky and her calf, Bryan extended our tour with a couple more hours. And that beside the black bear, the sea otters and stellar sea Iions. Beautiful and a great company to travel with.

This journey is a 50th-birthday-present I got from my husband. We have been looking forward to seeing whales (and bears) for years. Subtidal was recommended to us by our B&B-hosts, so we had full confidence and didn't even read too many reviews anymore. The boat and wetsuits were very decent, Wendy explained everything very well and was very caring when... More

We went out on the Dixie IV and had a great trip! We did the bears, whales and islands tour and even though the whales eluded us it was still totally worth it! We were fortunate enough to see plenty of eagles, seals, sea lions, a bear and the cutest sea otter ever (that was the highlight of the trip... More

We had a wonderful boat trip with Subtidal. Small and comfortable boat. Guide knows a lot and really respects nature and the animals. We saw many bald eagles, sea otters, sea lions and grey whales. Trip to the broken islands group was beautiful.Best boattrip in our holydays.

We have not seen any whales or Bears. We were told that it was the same situation at least for the last 3 days. The Company just rips you off. You pay a 100 dollars for nothing and they know that there are no whales around. June 27, 2016 2 PM Dixi ship

Fantastic trip seeing lots of whales ( grey and hump back),seals and sea lions. Saw a brown bear on an island which was a bonus. Brendon was very experienced and informative and knew where to find the wildlife. Ribbed boat was very exhilarating and able to get very close to the whales at times. Very well organised and well worth... More

Wendy took us out on a whale watching trip in the Zodiac - a small, faster boat. She was very knowledgeable about the area and the sea life. We saw many sea creatures including seal lions, otters as well as a number of whales. The Grey Whales and Humpback Whales were feeding all around the boat, so much so we... More

We had a great trip with subtidal, they were very friendly and knowledgeable of the local area. I preferred my trip with them to Jamies (the other large company in Ucluelet) and found the staff and captain were awesome. We saw a grey whale, eagles, sea lions and seals as well as doing a tour of some of the broken... More
