The Wild Pacific Trail is located in Ucluelet and is a seven phase trail system skirting the rugged cliffs and shoreline of the west coast of Vancouver Island. Overlooking Barkley Sound and the Broken Group Islands to the east and the open Pacific Ocean to the south and west, it offers spectacular shoreline panoramas and seaward vistas through ancient cedar and spruce-framed viewing platforms constructed on the best headlands along the route.

Love the trail!

The trail is groomed and easy to manage for most people. The views are wonderful. Some of the areas you can go down lower and explore the beach front or rocks.

The 2.6km trail has lots of interesting information along the way, as well as lovely views out to sea and coastal rocks. The trail is quite shady but probably wouldn't suit wheelchairs due to some steep sections. It was a easy walk though. There are many short tracks to lookouts (just a few metres long) as well as many seat... More

Check out the Amphitrite Lighthouse Loop or Ancient Cedar trail. Stunning vistas and amazing old (HUGE) trees! The trail is easy to walk without too many obstacles. The path is mostly gravel allowing less seasoned hikers than the West Coast trail.

Great hiking, not too strenuous, easy paths with great look outs and amazing views of the black rock and the Pacific Ocean, a must to do when in the area

This is a lovely walk in and out of beautiful nooks and crannies right along the Pacific. It's an easy walk with plenty of places to stop and sit and really easy to follow. Have a drink in the Blackbear hotel bar afterwards - they have great views from there too.

The trails are not to bad, wear comfortable shoes, there are plenty of stop where you can sit and view the beautiful ocean, the trail can take up to an hour, depending on how often you stop, take some thing to drink, also bring along your camera.

We Did the Lighthouse loop early in the morning. There was no one around so we virtually had the place to ourselves. The views are superb. The pathways are well maintained and very say to walk on. Highly Recommended for a couple of hours

Whether you're a beginner or an avid biker, this trail is beautiful and worth doing. We did the lighthouse loop separately from the rest of the trail - all of it is great. Mostly wide sand/gravel trail, tons of ocean views, and not so long that you spend a whole day on the trail. The last section Rocky Bluffs has... More
