We have been goling to Tofino for several years and have always made at least one visit to Rubio each time. I have a wonderful collection of red amber as well as other jewellery. Of course, we always come away with some chocolate!
We recently took some visitors from the UK to Tofino for a few days. Rubio was a definite stop. They loved the store and, of course, came away with jewellery and chocolate.
Helen, the lady who runs the store is one of the kindest people I have ever met. It was so good to catch up with her. I was so sorry to hear that Heinrich had recently passed away. Mom and son are continuing to keep the Tofino store open, The Ucluelet store is now closed.
Rubio is certainly a hidden gem in Tofino and Mom (Helen) makes it happen!

Walked in on a whim, after doing the Tonquin Trail, and deciding on a bit of ‘downtown Torino action’, as the sun was out, and it was a beautiful fall day. We were greeted by the owners son, and immediately made to feel welcome and appreciated as clients. The shop has a fantastic collection of jewellery and glass work (at EXTREMELY reasonable prices..)- so much so that that we walked out with an amazing collection of oil candles, tea light holders, and hand crafted jewelry, not to mention the courtesy chocolates, as an added ‘thank you’. The conversation was delightful, with a number of unknown areas to explore discussed. Will certainly be returning (as well as visiting the Ucluelet shop...), as we haven’t completed a number of ‘collections’, yet...

The lady who runs this shop is one of the kindest ladies I have met in Canada! I would recommend popping in even if you didn’t want to buy something because she gave us really good advice on the best restaurants and cafés to go to in Ucluelet (admittedly it’s a small town) and advised us on some very good tours without us buying anything! As a thank you, I brought 2 pairs of earrings which were gorgeous, hand crafted silver! Such a lovely woman and lovey jewellery!

We have just visited Tofino and came across this little shop, what a find. The jewelry is just beautiful. I bought a pendant shaped like a wave which the owners son had made. The service was excellent, such friendly people.

Three of us wandered into the Tofino store, just strolling by....were greeted by a super friendly guy who we learned was the son of the parent/son business, two stores- one in Uclulet and one in Tofino. I was amazed at the very reasonable prices! In fact I told the owner they need to raise their prices...after i purchased! LOL. We bought 4 pieces of jewelry and really enjoyed a great chat with the owner...non-jewelry related but some great conversation...super smart young guy with lots of history background. I highly recommend this store for beautiful pieces of hand crafted uniqueness... Awesome service and some new treasures for yourself or for someone special you want to give something to. I only regret we ran out of time to get to the Uclulet store too.

We popped into Rubio on Christmas Eve and were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful offerings in this quaint little store! My sweetheart bought me a sterling silver wave ring,pendant and earring set designed by the owners son. It is so beautiful and only sold at Rubio of course! The lovely couple couldn't have been more welcoming! We left with truffles,a lottery ticket(if we win we will totally share!) and chocolate Santa and ornaments!! What an AMAZING EXPERIENCE!! Merry Christmas!

Ok, this place is a gem, not only for the beautiful handmade jewelry and glass sculptures including waves, whale tales, etc., (including and a proprietary beautiful egg-shaped handmade art glass oil candle lamp), but also for the adorable Polish-born parents of the artist who creates them. We loved the products and bought some, but also loved this warm, friendly couple who help their son create amazing art and unique keepsakes in their ships in Ucluelet and Tofino.

The parents of the designer run the Ucuelet branch of this gallery/jewelry store. They couldn't be nicer or more informative and the jewelry and blown glass is lovely.
