This is a inherent part of every visit in Ucluelet. The trip is worth every single penny. The lunch anchored in quiet waters is an unique feature of this tour you should not miss, so please book it.

We had the most wonderful time on the boat with fantastic hosts. Everything was provided, even binocs. The lunch was superb and in a fantastic setting in a quiet bay on the boat. The hosts are very experienced in all aspects and one can tell. We can only suggest to everybody to take this tour from Uclulet it is very worth it. We will certainly be back and this will be the first thing we will book again.

Booked this almost a year in advance following glowing recommendations from friends who travelled with them before. very easy to book and very quick replies to correspondence during the year. The weather either side of our trip was grey and wet, but on the morning of our trip the sun shone and it appeared to be a beautiful day for cruising. You meet on the harbour side in the main town , where Toddy takes your final payment . You are all escorted to this beautiful boat which is Todd and Al's home and given an informational talk about the trip and a safety talk about the boat. We soon set off and guests have access to all areas of the boat we sat on the deck in the front of the boat, some people went up on the seated top deck and others in the rear of the boat. There is also an inside area where tea & coffee is available all day along with a free muffin and toilets. The start of the tour is around the harbour where we met the sealions that live on the harbour and Al gives an interesting talk about the harbour, the local fishing industry and history of the town. Throughout the day Al and Todd share the steering of the boat and their interesting commentaries , stopping and pointing out wildlife and places of interest. The cruise takes you around the beautiful broken islands where there is a wealth of wildlife and we were lucky enough to see Eagles, deer, humpback whales , a mother black bear and a cub, and a rare sighting of a grey whale. One of the main reasons I wanted to go on the tour was to see sea otters , and we headed out to the island where they are regularly seen. Unfortunately when we attempted to leave the shelter of the islands and go out into the open sea , the swell from the sea was horrendous . The boat was bouncing all over , and after 2 or 3 different attempts Todd had to admit defeat for safety reasons. We then travelled into a sheltered harbour for lunch , a perfect spot especially when we watched a deer swim across the inlet by the boat. Tables and chairs are set up on deck for those that have ordered a gourmet lunch from the local restaurant and wine is available to buy. The lunch was beautiful , and sitting out on deck sipping wine in the sunshine made it perfect. However you are welcome to bring your own lunch to enjoy. We were lucky we had a lovely group of people on board so spent a lot of time chatting laughing and sharing the experience. We then returned back sailing along the islands and spotting more wildlife. Todd and Al are the perfect hosts and you are fortunate to be able to share their beautiful home and enjoy a luxury trip in a stunningly beautiful place . Don't hesitate to book this trip, it was one of the highlights of our holiday

A last minute booking on this trip and we were so glad it was possible. It was the highlight of the 3 week holiday in Canada. Al and Toddy are knowledgeable and enthusiastic guides. The boat was extremely comfortable, the sun shone and we enjoyed a delicious lunch in a hidden backwater. The wildlife was amazing, we saw a bear and 3 cubs, whales, seals, river otters, eagles - would thoroughly recommend to anyone wanting a trip that is a bit special with people who go the extra mile.

My husband and I wanted to enjoy a wildlife cruise while in Tofino / Ucluelet. A quick Trip Advisor search told me that Archipelago Wildlife Cruises was the way to go. Although late in the season, Toddy stayed in constant contact as to whether a cruise was going to be possible, based on an understandable "minimum number of passengers needed" policy. Luckily, there was enough interest and we were able to enjoy a relaxed, informative cruise on a beautiful day. Toddy and Al pointed out California Sea Lions, Stellar Sea Lions, Eagles, Bear, Grey Whales, etc. As a hobbiest photographer, I appreciated the heads up when they spotted something, and the effort to get us into the best position. Lunch was delicious, and they kept peoples food intolerances / allergies in mind. I completely recommend a tour with Toddy and Al!
