When you come from TO, when you are starting out from Charlottetown, O'Leary is in the middle of nowhere. We are glad we went, however. Mostly, information is presented in panels and drawings, but if you like and respect potatoes like we do, you learn a lot. And we recommend hitting the kitchen before you're done and splurging on a... More

We enjoyed the museum. It tells a lot about the potato industry in PEI. The museum was easy to find. It is marked well in the town. Really enjoyed it and would come back.

This is a nice museum. Lots of history of the Potato Capital of Canada. The restaurant was awesome. Very good food.Nice gift shop. We just thought the price for entrance to the museum was a little pricey. It was not a guided tour. When we were growing up these types of museums were free. Over all it was a nice... More

This museum is definitely one of a kind, dedicated to potatoes and potato farming. The history of the potato is strangely interesting, and I actually enjoyed it. Sample potato fudge, and there is a small eatery will all potato products, as well as a gift shop.

Cute museum, a bit pricey but as you walk around the place you realize that they work very hard to keep the place opened and well maintained. We were surprised how much we enjoyed it . Very informative and full of machinery, artifacts and displays. The staff is friendly + a cafeteria and gift shop inside

If I had paid 8.75$ per person, I would have been a bit dissapointed. But at 20$ for a familly of four, it's ok. We went more out of curiosity but ended up enjoying the visit. Did learn some interesting facts. Ended up having poutine for lunch. The french fries are really good.

Let's be honest. A roadtrip in PEI is mostly farmland and quiet shorefronts. The potato museum might be one of the highlights worth a sidetrip if your expectations are realistic. The history, science and antique farm equipment are interesting. The museum touches on genetically modified potato crops but you are left to your own outside research to figure out the... More

We went more out of curiosity than actual interest. The entrance fee for two adults is $20, probably a little steep, but it is a nice break from visiting beaches. They did have interesting farm equipment, which my husband enjoyed because he's a mechanic. You do learn quite a bit about potatoes. They also have a kitchen that serves a... More

Fun for the family but the old farm equipment could be better displayed with some interactive information that let visitors know what each piece of equipment does. All in all however this is a very informative place.

Given that PEI grows almost all the potatoes consumed in Canada, if you are in the area, this is worth a visit, with a bit more information that you would ever want. There were several rooms that had exhibits on the history of the area and farming, including a collection of old rusty farm machines. Someone there had a sense... More
