Almost every night in the summer my husband and I go to Blackie spit to ride around the beautiful natural path ways and then around the beach and then back to sit on the beach and watch a stunning sunset… It’s a best kept secret and it’s hardly ever crowded and even more so there’s a fantastic dog park and place for the dogs to play in the beach best kept secret I think…

Great spot to play on the grass with the kids, and BBQ or on the beach.
Family oriented area, lots of friendly people enjoy the park and the view!

A beautiful short walk year round. Sea and mountain views.No dogs. No bikes. Can be busy at times. Parking limited.

Blackie Spit has a variety of things to do. Beach, park, walking trails, dog parks, fishing. There are 2 dog park areas, one is fenced in and the other is located on the beach with limited fencing.

This is my favorite place to take my dog. I can sunbathe and he can swim to his heart's content. Dog owners must pick up after their pets. Dog owners be aware that the barnacles can cut and embed in paws, just be careful and check your doggie's paws before loading them back in your vehicle.

I really like this place ,good for a stroll by the water any time of year. Also a good place to launch kayaks or paddle board. Although the boats coming from the marina down the way can cause some wake. Parking is good if you get this time of year and the dog beach is fun too. In the summer get there early to park.

My wife and I like to go for walks around Blackie Spit Park then stroll over to the Cabin restaurant for a Nice Dinner.

Since they updated the parking at the beach, it is much better. The view is amazing and we always enjoy our 'go to place'.

A popular beach area since the 50's this area is at the mouth of the river and has been preserved along the foreshores to provide walking paths and family picnic areas (bring your beach blanket). There are grass areas and lots of Parkings. I do not recommend this area for swimmers as there are some gentle currents.
