Warning - Too difficult for people who have heart problems or not in shape
Sep 2020
This is a very nice park but the trails are not moderate as advertised. I would say the trails are difficult (especially trail F) because the trails are often in the mountains. So you keep going up the mountain then you have to go down. I have been going up and down mountains all day just for trail F. These trails could be dangerous for people with a weak heart or for those that are not fit. The signs are often confusing or have not been updated. For instance, we tried to find our way back to the reception by following the signs but we ended up in a cul-de-sac. We started at 10 am and we came back at 5 pm, after being lost for several hours. We finally found our way back by asking people for help. A lot of these people also had problems finding their way back. It is a potentially dangerous place because the signs are not always clear and you can get lost easily. I think the trails are too hard to do and I would not go back. I would strongly suggest that they improve their signs because they are confusing and not always accurate. If you really want to go, I would suggest you bring a GPS.

Nice winter hike!
Dec 2019 • Solo
Haven’t tried this place in summer, but it’s quite nice for a winter hike: they have different trails with different difficulty levels, so I believe it’s good for all hikers!

Beautiful but challenging
Sep 2019
We took what was described to us as a moderate path, which was about 3 km. It was the most challenging hike we have ever taken. On the D path, there was a lot of uneven ground, large steps up & down, and lots of navigating over branches and through slippery, muddy areas. The C path was more direct and more flat (surface, not altitude). The view at the top was beautiful. If we had known how strenuous the hike was though, we would have passed.

Great hiking and snowshoeing trails
May 2019 • Family
Amazing for hiking and snowshoeing in the winter, the Park boasts an extensive map of trails varying in degrees of difficulty. The trails are well-marked and cleared.
They charge a small entrance fee, but it’s worth it. And, since it’s relatively within the core of the town, access is easy and convenient, with many of the local amenities within walking distance.

Great hiking in the Val David region
Jun 2018 • Couples
This was our first hike in this regional park and it won’t be our last.

Firstly, we have to give a big shoutout to the gentleman working the information counter at Chalet Anne-Piché! We shared our hiking level and the amount of time we wanted to hike and he recommended a route of trails that met both of our requirements.

The trails are well-maintained, well-indicated and have signs with interesting information about the fauna and area.

Great Winter Destination from Novice to Advanced
Dec 2017 • Couples
If you're searching for a great outdoor winter area but you don't downhill or are tired of alpine skiing, then Parc Regional in Val-David is for you. In comparison to the other Quebec locations I've tried - Eastern Townships, Mount Tremblant area & around Le Massif - I've found this location one of if not the best based on: value; variety of trails; ease of access to location (only a few hours from Montreal in traffic); close to accommodations & food options; & some fantastic vistas once you reach the top. I love snowshoeing and x-country(nordic) skiing and this place offers both, with a variety of trails from novice to advanced. Of special note for the novices: trails are extremely well marked & outhouses are well-placed along the trails. Dogs are permitted on showshoe only trails, must be leashed & you must pick up after your dog. There is a rental shop available on site but please note food on-site is very limited so bring your own. Staff I met spoke French as well as some limited English & they accept cash & debit only for payment.

Challenging but great!
Jul 2017
We did the scenic trail which was very pretty and some interesting climbing. We took our golden retriever who loved going through the middle of every mud puddle. Great fun! The staff at the checkin were informative. There are bathrooms along trails and at the main entrance. Take bug spray.

Easy Nature walk with great views...
Sep 2016 • Solo
If you would like a easy to medium track into a little nature then look no further. A good pair of walking shoes, camera, a map sourced from the office (very helpful staff) and a few dollars entry and you are on your way. It can be from 1 hour to all day if you let it. I was spoilt (Fall session) was just starting (End Sept) and so the trees colours were changing, but I am sure anytime is good. The vantage points for photos are good, make sure you take some water and food (take your rubbish with you) so you can sit and relax at different view spots.

Variety of nature environments and picturesque panoramic views
Aug 2016 • Couples
We walked in the park for good 2.5 hours. A combination of several itineraries took us thought a variety of environments and to picturesque panoramic views. You have to be in a relatively good shape to go up and down; and you absolutely need good hiking shoes. I guess I am spoiled by free parks in US; and, so, I was surprised that you have to pay here an admission fee. But at least you get a map and a professional advance what itinerary to take for a certain amount of hours you have. Actually, advise was very good and accurate but map disintegrated before the end of our hiking. Trails are marked. There is a large parking lot at the entrance.
