Did the self-guided hike through the hoodoo rock formations and along the Milk River during the morning in early September (when the weather was cooler). It's a there and back (vs. loop) interpretive trail with 12 exhibit stops along the way. Distance each way is...More

Writing on stone national park is a great place! We had loads of fun and the hiking trails were quite fun. The writings on stone are quite impressive but sad to see that people have been making their own writings and destroyed some of the...More

First up you are blown away by the amazing rock formations along the Milk River. Then you see the petroglyphs and are astounded all over again. If you can, pay for the guided tour. Becky was great and so knowledgeable. If you don't want to...More

Laura gave an excellent "WOS 101" tour to our group in mid-August. Although I preferred the evening Rock Art tour two years ago, the WOS 101 is a good compromise for the dangerous midday heat, children with short attention spans, or for those just wanting...More

Thank you very much for your review. The WOS101 tour was specifically designed to mitigate exactly the issues you mentioned. Though it isn't an in-depth Rock-Art tour we wanted to still give folks a taste of that information mid-day when, as you likely know, the...More
