For a small building, this place reeks with history. the guided tour is informative, and there is plenty to see and learn. The garden needs work but they are aware and doesn't distract from the overall visit.More

Thank you for your review. The garden is never much in august as most of the non repeat flowers are over. We are making a lot of changes to it over this winter, but the manor and gardens will only open for group bookings and...More

The house was very interesting; if that were all we had done I would increased the mark. It’s claimed to be the oldest continuously inhabited manor in England, King Canute reputedly sat around the hearth. The museum is as interesting as any small town museum,...More

Absolute rubbish. Not worth the £7.50 each admission. The gardens had no flowers or herbs it looked like it had been abandoned. The house was so small it only took 10 mins to get round and the WW1 exhibit was very poor.More

As the oldest house in the County, if not the Country, I have wanted to visit this place for years. Made it at last, on a pleasant June afternoon. The Manor House can be explored with the help of an excellent audio unit, which explains...More

The manor house is most interesting as it embodies medieaval features along with Georgian additions. The way the height of the medieval great hall has been exposed without compromising the later alterations. Most stimulating to the imagination are the "scars" on the outside of the...More
