About
Simple, comfortable accommodation used to access spectacular alpine hiking in Wells Gray Park. Composting toilets, solar power and hike in access only has made these huts the ultimate ecologically sensitive destination for over thirty years. All stays are fully catered and guided due to the remote nature of the terrain surrounding each cabin. Stay in one hut and explore - or hike from cabin to cabin for the ultimate Canadian wilderness adventure vacation.

Fabulous adventure
Sep 2021
A girlfriend and I did a 3 day canoe trip followed by a 3 day hiking trip in early Sept. I cannot say enough about how wonderful our experience was!! The guides (different fellows for each trip) were knowledgeable, personable and great cooks too :) All eventualities were thought of - including a chamber pot for middle of the night visits for us ladies of a certain age.
The pace for both the canoeing and the hiking reflected the clients' abilities. We enjoyed the magnificent scenery and peacefulness, learned a lot about the plants as well as the stewardship of this magnificent wilderness and savoured the camaraderie of the group.
It was a wonderful experience and I will certainly go with this organization again. THANK YOU.

Nothing short of spectacular!
Sep 2021
Our 7 day hut to hut hike was nothing short of spectacular, thanks to the well organized work of Tay and team, and our most excellent guide Travis! Ten well-aged lady hikers took to the trails on a Tuesday morning, and soon encountered rina, which then turned to snow. Undaunted, we hiked to the first cabin, got settled in, and then set off for another hike in the afternoon. Every other day we hiked to another cabin destination. The cabins are all well equipped, we were very well fed with a variety of fresh produce, hot breakfasts, packed our lunches, and certainly never went to bed hungry! The glass of wine at dinner was a welcome and unexpected treat! The mountains of Wells Gray Park are amazingly beautiful, and the hikes our guide took us on showcased them perfectly. Expect to be tired at the end of the day, and ready for a good night's sleep on comfy bedding. A great experience, and one we will not soon forget.

Man, I really want to back there again

Wells Gray Adventures is a great company. Our group of 8 spent 6 wonderful days (5 nights) at Fight Meadow cabin, guided by a very competent and kind guide named Linus Persson (originally from Sweden), who also is a great cook. His chocolate brownies would catapult him to Best Baker on the British Baking Show. Most people do a 6-day or 7-day hut to hut tour, staying for 2 days and nights at each hut. Since our group included some people who weren't as familiar with backcountry hiking, we chose a mellower adventure, just staying in one of these cabins (at Fight Meadow). The cabin is basic, but very comfy, and very clean. The composting toilet is great - zero odour. The scenery is incredible. The cabin sits next to a 13 km long alpine meadow, with pockets of subalpine fir, two nearby exquisite lakes (Fight Lake and Branta Lake), and a spectacular 6-hour hike up Battle Mt., which offers a blow your mind panoramic view of the area. We had all sorts of mountain weather (sun, rain, hail, snow, clouds, wind, fog) and loved it all, as Linus flexibly adapted our daily outings to the conditions. The 6-hour hike up to the cabin and 5-hour hike back down were tiring, but Linus moved at a very comfortable pace, with frequent rest stops. We all loved every minute of our holiday, and can't wait to go back again. Fortunately I will be back for backcountry skiing in February 2022. The price was very reasonable, a real bargain for such magnificent hiking, an excellent guide, a comfy cabin, and yummy food. Tay was very flexible in arranging our trip, which involved quite a few changes in plans.

I was in awe!
Aug 2021
I just returned from a five day hut to hut hiking trip and it was an exceptional experience. The landscape was always changing, the vistas were breathtaking, and the wildflower meadows were beyond majestic; Wells Gray in BC is the most wonderful place.

Pristine lakes, soaring mountains, and comfortable cabins all located in untouched wilderness, Linus, our knowledgable guide, does his job very well and handled the cooking for the whole trip. Wells Grey Adventures covers all diets from vegan to gluten-free to meat lovers.

You're presented with bountiful and varied hiking options. Prices are afforable making for a great bargain package. I totally enjoyed myself and cherished every moment.

I highly recommend Wells Gray Adventures and am considering a second trip next year. Fantastic!

We are so fortunate to live in a province that affords us the opportunity to explore our own backyard.
Our 7 day hut to hut hike exceeded all of our expectations. Excellent guide, accommodation, food and of course the scenery.
Highly recommend Wells Grey Adventure tours.

Must-do
Aug 2021
Just finished the 5-day hike and it was sublime. I am a dog-walking, middle-aged lady and I could do the hikes with no worries, as our group's pace allowed for lots of photo stops. And it's hard to stop taking photos because the scenery is just unbelievable! Linus was a fantastic guide, the food was way more than expected for such a reasonable price (and there's dessert every night), and the whole experience was just the highlight of my summer. Already looking forward to trying the 3-day next summer. Thank you so much!

Blooming wonderful trip
Jul 2021 • Friends
We did 4 days of hiking and stayed at Fight Meadow Chalet. The whole trip was fabulous (even the snow on our last morning). We had amazing wildflowers-thank goodness the 2nd bloom came early. Our guide JF was great - helpful, kind, fun and very knowledgeable about the area, the flowers and the trees. We had some pretty good views and the lakes were very refreshing. The chalet was comfortable and the food was really good. Would go on another adventure with this company in a heartbeat!

Nature at its best
Jul 2021
The alpine and sub-alpine meadows on the 7 day hut-to-hut hike were simply gorgeous. The views from the huts, the mountains, the lakes provided an experience that will stay with me for a very long time. Wells Gray Adventures is an excellent company who have been in business for a long time, and it shows every step of the way. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone who is reasonably fit and wanting to experience nature at its best.

Great hike in beautiful surroundings
Jul 2021 • Friends
I have been to Wells Gray Provincial Park before but with this 7 day hut to hut hike was able to see areas I would not have got to otherwise. Each hut sat in a beautiful spot and the vistas in between huts were gorgeous. The company truly espouses a minimal ecological footprint in this setting in everything they do.

Travis, our guide, ensured we never felt rushed even though there are some distances to cover every second day. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area and the flora and fauna as well as very accommodating and patient with our requests and questions. If you are moderately fit and enjoy the outdoors this is an adventure you would enjoy.

7 days of heaven and peace
Jul 2021
The scenery, the flowers, the lakes - the overall experience was more then I had hoped. The swim in the lake is a must and one of the many highlights. Being surrounded by beauty at every turn was truly worth it. If you want to get away from crowds this is the place to go - we never ran in to anyone until the day we hiked out and then it was only a group of 3 people.

Our guide was amazing, no matter what question we came up with, and we had many, he was able to answer, his local knowledge and experience was so appreciated. The food and accommodations for being out in the remote wilderness was perfect.

I would recommend this hike (7 day).
