About
We tell great stories. We can explain how Creston got its wacky time zone. We can tell you about the steamship that became a tractor (sort of), the first airplane to land in Creston, and the teacher who refused to be fired. Speaking of "great" stories, there's "The Great Railway Race" and the "Great Creston Bank Robbery." And have you heard the one about the imaginary student in Grade Thirteen? Really, we're not making this up. Why would we? Truth is so much better than fiction. We can even help you tell the greatest story of all: your own. So come on in. After all, there's no time like the present to discover the past.

I was in Spokane WA on business and had a day off. I got in the car and just drove north with no real destination in mind. I found myself crossing into Canada. Just across the border I for a cute little town called Creston. They had a museum, so I stopped in. The day was clod, rainy and foggy. Most sane folks were indoors trying to stay warm. I entered the museum and found a lady named Tammy. I was the only person she had seen all day. I asked to see the exhibits and she popped right up and cheerfully grabbed her keys and told me to follow her.
We walked to the one room schoolhouse first and Tammy began to tell me about the town and its people. She was a wealth of information and knew everything about each item in the museum. We then went into all of the other buildings. At each stop, Tammy had a little tidbit that really made the exhibit come alive.
We finished with a walk through the extensive outside collection of old logging equipment. Again, Tammy had a story for each piece. I was there about an hour and a half and it was truly an enjoyable time.
If you go, please understand that this is a small town and a small museum with very little budget. It is not the Smithsonian with pristine exhibits. It is a collection of what made Creston, Creston. This little town is proud of its history and they are happy to share it with you.

I stopped in today with half an hour to closing and I was really impressed by this place. I think they've done an amazing Job for a small town. I love how they used an old stone house to hold the majority of museum and I like how they spread their exhibit several several small buildings. They have done a very good job of capturing the unique farming history of Creston. I didn't take the Ford over to her myself but I watched a young man give a fantastic tour to a couple who really seemed to enjoy it. I will go back as they have set the bar high for a small town

We were treated to a personal guide, at no cost, who was able to give us anecdotal information on almost every aspect of the museum. This was one of the most complete museums, with lots and lots of artifacts, that I have experienced, and it was amazing to know the history of the small town of Creston, BC.
