Must Visit if Travelling through Fort Nelson. Great set-up and historical information about town. See Marl's old Vehicle collection.

My husband and I have been driving the Alaska Highway to the Yukon for many years. We stay overnight here in Fort Nelson and always look over at the museum. This year we finally stopped in. We had only intended to "look around" but spent hours. Where did they go? There were log buildings, a general store, an old oil derrick, old telephone equipment, old cars and trucks, a wildlife exhibit, heavy equipment used to build the highway and memorials to those who built it. Truely a history lesson. Being a newly minted senior, I hate to admit it, I recognized and even used some of the things displayed. Time well spent. Thank you.

A good well presented museum used to be free ! Shame that they now charge for parking !!! Lots of very unusual weapons ! Plus echo's in some places that my Sisters grandaughter liked ! The rest was lost on her she is only 20months !!

Lots to see here! Including an albino moose! Lots of old cars and a room full of old telephones. Nice place to walk through history and take some time out of the car on the drive up the Alaska Hwy.

Took the family for a visit, 3yo and 6yo. Both lives looking around at the canon and through the tunnels, we attended a talk on different weapons through the ages and after the children could go and touch the guns and swords (very exciting) Plenty of parking onsite for a £3 charge but a great and free day out. Toilets are clean and plentiful, the cafe and gift shop are reasonably priced. Staff are happy to answer any of your questions, just wish there was a bit more interaction for the children. They have machines dotted about the place to play games on, but these cost money - and whilst it is free to get in so not a major problem every one is £1 so had to say no a lot to my 2 otherwise it would have cost A LOT for machines which are not really for their age group.
