We are one of the oldest boat tour operators in Nova Scotia. Our three-hour tours include a variety of activities depending on the route and weather conditions. We don't always see whales but you will have an exceptional family outing. You will discover and can photograph Old Town Lunenburg from the water, see miles of rugged Nova Scotia coastline and observe and hear the rush of waves plunging ancient sea caves.

We pass iconic lighthouses, stop briefly near Pearl Island (one of the few colonies of Puffins in the province) and often see dolphins, a variety of seabirds, leatherback turtles, sunfish, harbour seals and other marine species.

As for whale watching, the variety of species we see is impressive. There are Fin Whales, Minke Whales and Humpbacks. And on very special occasions (and with a bit of luck) we have seen rare species, like the great Blue Whale, the largest whale (and animal) on earth.

We would go again in a heartbeat. We didn't see any whales because the waves were too high but it made for a very fun and roller coaster like boat ride. :) They called our tour a "Plan B" tour because of the rough seas so we did get some money refunded back because it was not a three hour... More

We made a reservation for the 11:30 boat because that was all that they had left for the day. Does not matter what TIME you go, it's just a matter of whether or not they can find the whales. We were fortunate that the day prior, they had been in an area and seen plenty of them. We went back... More

Wildlife tours are often happen-chance. I was glad to get on the water to view the local islands and scenery regardless of the wildlife we may encounter. The boat and crew take safety as a priority and ensured the trip was safe for all guest on board. I enjoyed the seals, gannets, puffins and bald eagles. Although I had hoped... More

Very nice boat and staff. They have great knowledge on the history of the town. Seeing the whales is very weather dependent. The water was super choppy with 3ft swells and they still went out. Ended up seeing just a few whales and sea otters. They try their hardest to ensure you see sea life.

The weather was perfect for a cruise out on the ocean looking for whales. I was lucky enough to have the first sighting. Even saw 2 together. Also saw a few curious seals. It was a great outing.

Shame on us for not checking first and assuming we would see whales. Read the other reviews and check with the locals. Most certainly you will not see whales, not even Dolphins. We didn't see any whales or Dolphins. It's not that fact that upset us, that we didn't see any. It's the point that in general the word in... More

To those interested in seeing puffins: Although the Lunenburg Whale Watching Tour make many claims, many of them are false. This very unethical company will basically give out false information in order to get people onto their boat. When I first phoned this company, the sales agent advised that there are 1,000 puffins on Pearl Island. I later verified that... More

Not recommended, questionable ability to deliver the service to see whales. Due to all the lobster fishing activity and random minnow netting in the area how would one expect the whales to feed or visit the area. The Gents on the boat are doing their job but the selling of this service to see whales is not reasonable.....suggest you go... More

Well the trip out to search for whales and puffins was fine, we were not fortunate enough to see whales and Buffins are to small to see unless extremely close. We did see seals but we're not given enough time at this site to enjoy them and take a few photos. We were lucky enough to see the Bluenose ship... More

Things started well, as the guide gave an engaging historical view of the Lunenburg Harbour and its various buildings, ships, etc. Credit where credit is due. However, when we got out into the open seas, things went downhill. First, we saw zero whales from any distance. The only wildlife we saw were a few seals poking their heads out of... More
