Ironworks Distillery opened its doors to the public in June 2010. Situated in the old town of Lunenburg and residing in the building that used to be the old marine blacksmith shop, we create small batches of artisan spirits using produce from the Maritimes. We make vodka and brandy using Annapolis Valley apples, Pear Eaude vie and several delicious fruit liqueurs. Tastings are free.

While I was initially disappointed that they didn't have whiskey, the apple vodka and the various liquors more than made up for that deficit. We arrived too late for a tour, but the complimentary tastings made it a little better. I wish they could ship to the USA! The rhubarb liquor was my favorite, and I cannot wait to try... More

Nice little spot. Free samples to taste before you buy. Picked up a bottle of "Bluenose” rum a nice conversation piece and not to bad for a drink either. We also purchased some blueberry liquor.....It’s really good (try it)

We spent an hour or so hearing about the history of this location and about the distilling process. We tasted several of their products and purchased a few bottles to take home. Our host was charming and knowledgeable. Worth a visit.

Need I say more. World class dark rum that are now award winners. My choice was Amber. Very nice. Nice old building transformed into the distillery. Tastings are free and service comes with knowledge. Away from hustle bustle of restaurant row and the Bluenose, worth the walk.

We sampled a couple drinks here, don't get too excited as they are merely a sniffs worth. It's enough for a taste though and they are free. The alcohol seemed good but crazy expensive. My wife and I don't really appreciate different grades of alcohol so I chalk it up to a mediocre experience.
