This is a mid-size gorge with a couple of nice decent-size waterfalls set in a pleasant wooded valley. But it's privately owned and they do their best to grab the tourist dollar with a high entrance fee; a dreadful cafe; tacky gift shop and the ubiquitous zipline.
The paths around the gorge are nice with some lookout points. And there's several suspension bridges over the gorge. But overall this feels more like a Disney attraction than a return to nature. There's a lot of steps if you want to cover the whole route. And wheelchair accessible only in part and with plenty of hills to cover. (I saw plenty of young families struggle with buggies). The cafe is dreadful, serving very mediocre fare. OK if you want a cold drink but the sandwiches were dry and had little filling. (It probably didn't help in my case by my being served by a very grumpy young lad who didn't understand me, then tried to correct what I was saying).
I hesitate to warn you off since it's a nice slice of nature. But be aware of what you're letting yourself in for.

Fabulous afternoon here. Weather was a bit drizzly but we decided to go anyway and we almost had the place to ourselves. It took us just over an hour to cover the walk including the first 2 bridges which were fine and not too wobbly. We skipped the last one as the stairs were a bit wet ( all 180 of them- you have to go down and come back up them ! ) . Lots of great viewing places to see the waterfall and canyon. Toilets at the entrance and throughout the route with a small cafe at the entrance for drinks and snacks. A must do experience if you’re in the area.

I’m not sure why some negative reviews called this a tourist trap. As long as you know what you’re getting, it’s a fine place to stop for an hour or two. What you’re getting is a really nice hike on a paved loop to view a spectacular waterfall which runs through a dramatic gorge. You will climb lots of stairs if you want the full experience. There are several swinging bridges over the gorge, so perhaps this is not for those afraid of heights. My teens also did the zipline (which costs extra) and enjoyed that. There’s a nice restaurant and pretty picnic grounds. That’s it. You’ll have to decide for yourself if that’s worth the admission price. I’m glad we saw it.

I cannot rave enough about this place. It’s breathtaking. About a 2 km walk. We had our little three tear old. Some 187 steps to climb to get to the bottom of the gorge but so so worth it. It’s stunning

Half hour further on than Montmorency Falls but easy to drive to. Watch the turn off at the top of the hill which comes up suddenly. This is a lovely trail with other attractions. Trails takes maybe an hour plus with three bridges. Middle bridge is a bit daunting but doable. Its very kid friendly and has lots of information. Just a really pretty walk amongst some stunning scenery. This is an " attraction" with an admission fee.

We had 'falls day', travelling first to Montmorency Falls and then to Canyon Sainte-Anne. Both parks are impressive in their own ways, but I'd say Canyon Ste-Anne provided the more natural and thrilling experience.
Just a few miles northeast of the Ste-Anne de Beaupré shrine just outside the main area of the town of Beaupré and less than a half hour from Quebec City, these falls do not fail to impress at any corner. One option for your visit, which is not very expensive and very much worth it, is to start at the bridge at the top of the falls and walk along the path in a circle along the middle bridge, viewing the different levels of the cascades from many vantage points.
You can also follow the full trail, shaped like a number 9, all the way to the bottom of the falls. We did this and found it impressive, less tiring than the climb up to the top of Montmorency and very calming and relaxing. We found spectacular views around each corner. We stayed for awhile at the base, enjoying the forst surroundings - at Canyon Ste-Anne you are treated to a visit nearly entirely into the forest as opposed to the very open site plan of Montmorency - and the sounds of the falls, birds and trees.
Looking for an hour or few in nature in a spectacular setting? Head east on 138, look to the left after the town of Beaupré thins out and visit Canyon Sainte-Anne. We consider it a highlight of our trip. Nice gift shop too.
If you are visiting the shrine, visit here first. The shrine was open later if you got a later start. We did Montmorency, Canyon Ste-Anne and the Shrine of Ste-Anne de Beaupré in the same day.

The 5 stars assume you are doing the short but very cool zip line. The hikes and views are very good, though not quite up to 5 star standard. But if you add in that very high zip line and the views of the gorge from there, this is a great and easy trip from Quebec City. I am attaching a picture of my young daughter doing it to show you that you do not have to be a wild adventurer to get out on that zip line. You can add in Mt. St. Anne (where you can canyoneer) or Montmorency falls to make a full day of it.

I can not find a separate site to review Adventurex so am putting it here.
This was an amazing experience. We took the Extreme package and 3 of our group of 4 found it extremely challenging but thought it was the best thing they have ever done while traveling. They start you out on an easier course (Family Course) to determine if you are able to handle what follows. Both the guide and I decided I would sit out the last part of the trip while the other 3 continued. So I got to take photos of the other 3 from various vantage points.
I think that just about anyone who is even a little physical fit can handle the family course. DO IT! You will be glad you did. It is an amazing way to see this beautiful location.

The trail takes you through 3 different levels of the falls. The lower bridge is with see through metal steps was quite impressive. There are lots of animal sculptures on the way and a quest for kids almost at the entrance (they have to respond to number of using the clues given on the kids trail and at the end guess the type of bird), our kids had lots of fun. Lots of stairs but there are sitting areas. Really worth the visit.

Hello,
My family and I are planning to be in Quebec City around Easter, and wanted to see if Canyon Sainte-Anne was open at that time. I see their website shows May 11 as the opening day but I noticed a reviewer wrote they experienced the attraction in March 2019. Just wanted to see what is available to do if we go around April? Thank you.
Written March 25, 2019
Hello,
Thank you to take time to write to us. Unfortunately, we will not be opened during Easter weekend. Our trails at this period are still covered with lots of snow and it is not safe for visitors.
If you want to visit us in May at our opening, we will be pleased to host you.
Cordially,

Gracias!
Written February 24, 2019
If you go to the park website, the rates and schedule page lists dates from May 11 to Oct 20. I would therefore assume that Oct. 20 is the last day it is open. Bikes would be of no use in the park itself, as all the trails are hiking trails (I bike). I didn't pay attention to bike parking, because we weren't biking on this trip.

We are traveling to Quebec in April. Can we visit Canyon Sainte-Anne at that time?
Written February 21, 2019
sorry, i just see message, i am not a local, but i went in September, weather was cool and nice

Can anyone tell me the best way to get here from Quebec City. We will be staying at The Hotel Chateau Laurier and have not planned to hire a car.
Written February 10, 2019
I don't think that this attraction is accessible by public transit unless you join some guided tour group. We had driven to this place and its away from Beaupre. Parking is free and we noticed many tour buses parked.
Written February 11, 2019
So 1-2 Std.?
Written August 2, 2018
Hi, first of all, we are sorry for answering in English, unfortunately we are not fluent in German.
It takes indeed around 1 hour to explore the park completely, but you have to add time if you want to do the rock climbing activity, the zipline or try Air Canyon.
It is definitely worth it to come, Canyon Sainte-Anne has magnificent panoramas and the views you will see are really beautiful.

Hello, I am interested in setting this stage on my tour
Where is the entrance?
how much is the ticket?
how long does the whole ride last?

Written July 23, 2018
Hi, we are located at 206, Route 138 Est, in Beaupré.
Our fees for entrance are of 14$ (taxes included) per adult. It is approximately 1 hour and a half to visit the canyon, and you can add time if you decide to do other activities such as zipline or rock climbing (extra fees).
As for the Air Canyon, it is 12$ added to your entrance fees, per person, and the "flight" lasts 2 minutes. You go at 60 meters above the canyon and can see the waterfall as well.
Please note that the parking is free and that you can bring your own lunch, or buy a snack on-site.
If you have any more question, please do not hesitate to go on our website or to call us at 418 827-4057. Thank you!
