The Sooke Region Museum is a fabulous stop to see the history of Sooke. Displays are well done with a small boutique shop with great Souvenirs and beautiful local items. If you time it right, late June there is the Salmon Bake.

Info centre is great! Toilets, picnic tables, free wifi and loads of brochures and tourist nick nacks. Museum is packed with information and old photos/objects, maps and video displays. There are numerous buildings each with different information also.

We visited the Museum tonight during the Thursday night Market. There were vendors offering crafts and nice looking food items. We also strolled through the Museum and gift shop. Both were very nice.

I especially liked the Moss Cottage tour. The museum offers one the opportunity to learn about life in the Sooke area upwards 100 years ago.
