I especially liked the Moss Cottage tour. The museum offers one the opportunity to learn about life in the Sooke area upwards 100 years ago.

It was interesting to see the early economic and cultural history of Sooke before it became reliant on the tourist trade. Good gift shop.

This is a very interesting museum showcasing the local history of the area. Definitely worth the visit while visiting Sooke or passing through. Entrance by donation. Very interesting local craft for sale as well.

The displays and stories are interesting, not phenomenal but adequate for a museum that was originated by local volunteers. Plan on spending an hour there and getting a taste of Sooke from yesteryear.

If there is any time left, go there. And if it is on a Wednesday you can visit the nearby night market, 4:30-7:30 pm, with farm products, craft things and good live music and good things to eat

Fabulous museum - great exhibits of local characters, properties & history. My favourite is the giant map with original homesteads labelled with settlers' names. Fine gift shop attached but with no pressure to buy. Friendly, helpful staff. Great value!

We could have spent hours here if we had more time. There was so much to see and excellent write-ups. The gift shop had many items from local artisans and books by local authors.
