Spent a really nice afternoon at Pheasant Glen with my husband. This well-laid out golf course is in a great location, has well-maintained fairways and greens, a driving range, putting green and restaurant on site. As a novice golfer playing with an avid golfer, I appreciated the five sets of tees, which allowed us to play together but at our own levels. The only drawback was that course officials scheduled tee times far too close together, which meant groups of golfers in front and behind us (as well as us) were waiting at every hole. However, all in all, a nice day.

I like to pride myself on the number of courses I've played but Pheasant Glen ranks as the biggest surprise! Me and my friends took a golf trip across the island recently with Pheasant Glen being our 3rd stop. Wow! The layout is terrific, challenging all aspects of your game but what impressed me most are the course conditions. From the grass on the driving range, to the rough I found behind the 3rd green I was thoroughly impressed!! The staff were friendly and we played in under 4 hours on a Sunday afternoon!
Highly recommended!

Have played this course a number of times and have always enjoyed it. Lots of challenges. Like that you are away from houses and buildings. And it is in amazing shape. Greens were fast and challenging. Fairways narrow. Multiple tee box choices so it is welcoming to all levels of golfers.
Stopped in club house for a pint of beer and snack after. Serve was quick and friendly. We will look forward to our next round!

I drove all the way from Victoria just to practice on their driving range which I recalled from a previous experience to be quite good. At that time I was able to pay for a single large bucket of balls. Today I arrived with my wife late in the afternoon and was told they don’t sell single baskets, only “day” passes for $20, not very practical for me, so I declined. When I was on the putting green a Member told me to take the extra balls he hadn’t used and go hit them. I didn’t, but my wife did and she was approached by the same person I had spoken to in the pro shop (he actually was going out to play but walked all the way from the tee especially to confront her to “enforce” the rule). Now, it was late in the day, the range was empty, so no reason to apply the rule so strictly.
They clearly have no idea how to look after a customer, more interested in applying “rules” in a small-minded way instead of using some discretion to easily accommodate the circumstances. I will not return and would not recommend this place to anyone.

Great round of golf, very picturesque. But do not book the accommodation. Really run down, should not be rented. And we tried to reach out to the manager with the feedback, and did not even acknowledge us with a response. Pretty disappointing.

Without a chef, this restaurant has become boring and predictable. If you compare this restaurant with Deez, it loses big time. The view is spectacular on a clear warm sunny day. The restaurant need to invest in a chef with imagination and some resources to work with.

Shop, practice, play and eat in any order. If you like Perfect Greens, Lush Fairways, and the occasional forced carry or bunker shot, then you are a golfer and you will Love Pheasant Glen. From the Pro-shop through 18 holes of perfectly manicured golf, to the deck at the 19th hole, you will be treated, and made to feel special. Don't miss out on this Gem, I play every time I am on Vancouver Island, and I am always amazed at how good it is.

Poor greens, no course marshal which was sorely needed, staff who were totally unconcerned with our day at their course. Will not return.

As the general Manager I was disappointed to read that you did not enjoy your day of golf at Pheasant Glen. I recall the day you golfed on May 8. Someone called to alert us that there was a slow group on the back nine, perhaps it was you. The owner drove out and located a group that was part of a wedding party. They were supposed to have teed off on the front nine. He moved the group to the first tee nine and apologized to each group that had been following them as he drove back to the first tee. You must have played through before he arrived. We may not always reach the high standards we set ourselves but we address our errors when we make them.
Having said that, the average time to play our course when walking is less that 4 hours. If you should find yourself in our area in future please contact me and I will be happy to do my best to improve your experience with our course.
Finally, our greens are very, very, good and we hear that from players everyday all day long. In early May they are still growing in due to our proximity to Arrowsmith and the frost conditions that we deal with until the middle of May. You played near the end of the day and the POA grows unevenly for a week or two until the frosts cease. I believe this is what you encountered in the late afternoon of that Sunday.
On May 28 -29 we hosted the zone 6 Vancouver Island qualifier for the BC Men's Amateur which we will host June 11-15. Many of the best players on Vancouver Island played in that tournament and many of them went out of their way to complimented me on the excellent condition of the golf course; particularly the greens.
I look forward to hearing from you.

If you're ever in the Qualicum/Parksville area and have time for a round of golf be sure to play Pheasant Glen. I had never heard of the course until I saw the sign on the road and drove in to check it out. The front nine is a fairly flat, but picturesque, links style course, while the back nine meanders through rolling forest. Very well maintained with immaculate greens, beautiful scenery and wandering deer. Pace of play is good, we completed 18 in 3:50. Good practice facility with grass tees on driving range and large putting and chipping areas.

An 80th birthday party was the occasion for a family and friends celebration at the Pheasant Glen Golf Course. The staff were friendly and helpful. Shelley, Donna ,Scott and Kaylee all fit in like family and gave excellent service. Delicious food served by friendly caring staff made the occasion special. The view of Mount Arrowsmith and the well kept greens added to the ambience of the island setting. The family run business with a mission to give patrons and employees a fun time left me feeling like I was part of the family. Mission Accomplished!

Hello I recently rented some clubs from your golf course. I really liked the Taylor Made Fairway Wood. They were a mens graphite set. Can you tell me specifically what model it was? There were actually two in the bag I like the heavier one.
