A few of us went to see The Downchild Blues band. The grand ol 'building is awesome, but in desperate need of inside work. The washrooms hosted 2 urinals & 2 stalls in the mens room. On 2 occasions the mens & ladies washrooms were lined up out the bathroom door into the hall & out almost the the front door of the building. Really????
I'm not sure if the sound man & production company belonged to the Opera House or if they travelled with the band but they were terrible. The sound volume level was good over-all but one of the worst mixes I have every heard, The sound folks were lost. The vocal sounded like he was singing into a towel, could not understand one word & e-guitar has so much 1K in it, & thin, it was peeling paint off cars in the parking lot. What a shame, legendary band, reduced to a bad bar band by the sound.
I do applaud the staff & volunteers however, polite & helpful. Nice folks. Great venue.
Fix the sound...

A lovely, historic venue. An intimate look at an unorthodox relationship. Their chemistry is palpable. A journey of love throughout the decades. A must see. Bravo!

Took a group recently to see Norm Foster's, The Gentleman Clothier. The whole experience was wonderful. The Studio theatre only holds 100 people, and there isn't a bad seat in the space. The building is historic and features some amazing architecture, although we did not see the large auditorium. The cast of the play are sharp and the timing is spot-on. Our group really enjoyed it; and there are some very loud, laugh-out moments. Staff were friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back, either to see more of the Summer Series, or another performer in the auditorium.

What a terrific play at a beautiful and intimate theatre. So glad we tried something new this summer. Highly recommend this play. Funny, witty and creative. Three Cheers to the writer, crew and cast.

My family and I watched this particular production; that was terrific!
However; the A/C was quite frigid! Most patrons went to retrieve warmth during the intermission from their vehicles!
There isn't any debit/credit cards accepted at the bar/concession stand!

We have attended several plays at the Orillia Opera House. We are never disappointed in the talents that are shared in a nice intimate sized theatre. You get to feel like you are a part of the story as it unfolds in front of you. They have great offerings of all kinds of arts experiences from family-friendly to musical talents. Will go back again and again. Highly recommend a trip here.

Seats were fairly comfortable. Small bathrooms so a long wait at intermission. Street parking and a parking lot. I parked on a street behind the opera house and it was easy to get out with all the traffic.

If you are looking for a good night out, make sure to attend the Canadian Short Film Venue in Nov. The stories and scenery that is captured are heart warming and breath taking. This is an evening that could be shared with the family or your friends.

Was here for Two different concerts. We were down near the front, but the venue is so small that I don’t think there are any bad seats!! Lots of parking nearby. Bar, and you can take your drinks to your seat. Easy in and out because it’s smalll, and beautiful Elevator if needed.

This cover band was like listening to the original... just awesome!
Opera house also has a bar that serves craft brews, and wine-- drinks allowed in theater while enjoying the show
