About
Melin Tregwynt, a delightful whitewashed woollen mill in a remote wooded valley on the Pembrokeshire coast, has been weaving since the 17th century, when local farmers would bring their fleeces to be spun into yarn and woven into fine Welsh wool blankets. Owned by the same family since 1912 it now employs over 35 people. Simple in spirit, satisfying in quality and timeless in design our Welsh woollens can be found in design-led stores and hotels worldwide. Simple stylish clothing, accessories and bags, blankets, throws and cushions – all in our own unique fabrics. You can buy directly from our mill shop and order online or from our catalogue. Our millshop, and great cafe are open 7 days a week. You can also see the mill working from 10.00am – 4.00pm Mon - Friday. On the edge of the Pembrokeshire National Park, just off the Coastal Way road we offer electric car charging and free parking. There are spectacular beaches, cliffs and coastal footpaths all within easy reach of the mill.

Tell the truth
Nov 2021
We booked the Christmas menu but when we got there we’re told we could only have the main course we were very disappointed.no reason given other than there must be more than two people on the same table. If we were told ar the time of booking we would not have bothered.

Hello, Please accept our apologies there was confusion over your booking. We do state that there is a minimum booking of 4 required for the special Christmas party menu. I believe you did visit and enjoy lunch with us, so the one star review does seem a bit unjustified. we hope you did enjoy your visit other than this confusion and look forward to seeing you again.

Unexpected Find

Lovely old mill with amazing cafe. Food generous and of excellent quality. Dog friendly, they have outside covered areas with heating. Wish it was closer to home! Shop has some lovely items for sale with most of the items made at mill. Friendly staff who explained how to get to the beach - which is a great walk!

Lovely woollen mill
Sep 2021
Very old, pretty woollen mill which has been extensively modernised with up to date looms. There is an exhibition where you can sit and watch several short videos about how everything works, and the jobs of the staff who work there - great for a rainy day! The gift shop stocks gorgeous throws, blankets and clothing, pottery and jewellery. There is a large car park. A very professional operation and an excellent place to visit.

An interesting mill to visit with good cafe
Sep 2021 • Couples
Thought we should look at a wool mill and this seemed a good one from the reviews in addition the cafe could be a good place for lunch.

The cafe would if you like roast dinner on a Sunday but being vegetarian made do with coffee and bara brith, both were tasty.

The mill is interesting with an exhibition with several shorts films about the workings, history of the place featuring the staff who work there. In addition there was shop selling their and other Welsh produce plus you could see the old mill which used to power the place and workshop.

Fabulous woollen mill with cafe
Sep 2021 • Couples
Always visit this mill when in Pembrokeshire and it never disappoints. Dog friendly cafe serving delicious food with plenty of outdoor seating. Sanitiser readily available. One way system in shop which is great and gorgeous blankets, cushions, scarves and homewares in the lovely prints and colours associated with this mill. Felt very Covid safe as toilets were immaculate with lots of soap & hot water. Came away with lots of beautifully made Welsh products.

Lovely lunch
Aug 2021
Had a good lunch of Home made soup and sandwiches and salads. Good idea that the Mill provide a sitting area which is covered but still 'outside'. Shame we did not have room for the lovely cakes which looked amazing - maybe next time!

Delightful place
Aug 2021 • Friends
Lovely place, I visited a few years ago and retired this year, the mill and the history is fascinating, lovely location takes some finding but is worth it. Visit the mill, the shop sells items made there the blankets are gorgeous, expensive but unique and will last a lifetime I now have two. The cafe is fantastic lovely food and delightfully situated, gets busy and can book for lunch, we also walked to the beach from the mill with the dogs .

Worth a visit
Aug 2021 • Friends
Have passed this place a number of times but not stopped. What a gem of a place. The lunch was lovely, served by staff who were polite and friendly. The added bonus then of having the opportunity to view how the beautiful Welsh fabric etc are made was interesting. Will defiantly return.
