Parvati in the Mountains
Jan 2019
Beautiful temple set in the hills, over looking a dreamy forest. The Brahmin priest gave us Darshan, and told us how this aspect of Parvati appeared spontaneously in the rocks, and 60 years ago a Shakti Yoga practicing Yogi built the temple around the manifestation. Wonderful experience, but please be respectful, you are visiting the house of a Goddess, whether you believe it or not.

Temple on the Hilltop
May 2018 • Couples
This temple is located on one of the highest peaks in the Honnavar Taluk. This is about 15 Kms from the main town and is towards Ramtirth Areangadi road.

It's just a temple nothing fancy but offers a very good view of the jungle, flora and fauna around the region. Good to go in the mornings or the evenings.

A must visit for nature lovers
Feb 2016 • Family
Karikaan is a very scenic place. A must visit for nature lovers. One can drive right up to the doorstep of the temple. However, beware that the temple is in a dense forest. You must return from this temple before it is dark as this forest has wild animals such as tigers and leopards in abundance. Except at the temple, it will be dangerous to get down from your vehicle when you are in the forest limits. Enjoy your travel to Karikaan Parameshwari Temple during daytime. It is a heaven on earth but traveling to this temple in the dark is discouraged due to possibility of encountering a wild animal.

Please do not litter in the forest area. Nobody is appointed for cleaning the plastic waste we tourists throw in the forest.

Directions: This is 14 km from Honnavar town. From Honnavar town, take north bound NH 66. Turn on Ramateertha cross road at LIC office and drive for 7 km. Upon reaching Areangadi village (locally pronounced as “Are Angadi” ), turn on Karikaan Parameshwari Temple Road and drive for another 5 km. The temple is at the end of the road.

Religious GSB Temple
Dec 2016 • Family
The temple is situated on mountain area and which is very steep . Omni car was struggling to climb the area and it was reversing back due to its less power . Recommended to drive better vehicle which climb up easily if you have couple of members in your car . To travel to this temple just after karki ( before honavar ) there is a small left diversion which heads to this temple , you might have to ask localities about travel route to this temple . The roads heading towards temple are awesome and well maintained ( no humps or potholes ) . The view point from this temple is breath taking . I highly recommend for travellers to visit this GSB temple . You could see 7-8 mountain top points from this view point and very far sea shore view . There is small temple at the view point which is goddess temple Shri Karikana Parameshwari amma .Don't miss this view point
