In the heart of Alpilles, the monumental “Carrières de Lumières” host extraordinary multimedia shows which are unique in the world. Spectators are totally immersed in the images projected onto all the surfaces of the rock. The ground is completely covered, too, and becomes a vast carpet of images. The site has reopened its doors with the show “Gauguin - Van Gogh, painters of colour”, created by Gianfranco Iannuzzi with Renato Gatto and Massimiliano Siccardi.

I went there to see the Chagall Exhibit. It was an amazing experience with images of paintings projected on the walls together with music. I would highly recommend this!

The music quality was tremendous and very moving. The art came alive as it danced along the limestone walls.Just beautiful. One really felt like they were completely immersed in art and music in one of the most amazing settings possible. So glad we made time for this.Don't miss it.

Fascinating collection of Chagall's works illuminated on floors and walls while listening to amazing music. Impressive display of projections of art onto cave walls while music is acoustically bounced off walls. Would definitely return!

despite after seen pictures and reviews, we were still amazed . A mountain ,carved by Man for stones , becomes a giant art gallery . Only being there can give you the sensation of something special

I'll try anyway. You enter an abandoned limestone quarry. It is very dimly lit. Then the show begins. Art works are projected on all the walls, the sides of the massive columns, and the floor. The art comes alive in many different ways. Beautiful classical music accompanies the display. It is a totally immersive experience. As you stroll around you... More

This old quarry has been turned into a beautiful place to see a montage of gorgeous paintings on many different levels, walls, ceilings and floor. You will be surprised by the artwork shown on so many different surfaces. It is like you are watching an art show movie in surround sound. The acoustics are superb. At one point there is... More

We had heard of the Carrieres de Lumieres - the remains of limestone quarries which now house enormous underground art exhibitions. The location is the beautiful Les Baux de Provence and is not easy to find owing to the remote location. But it was worth the search and we were treated to a stunning visual and audio display of artwork... More

We were ignorant and did not know of this awe-inspiring place. The lovely lady at the hotel tried to explain "they show art of the walls of the old quarries - it's really cool! ". Well, her English was not good enough to convey what her face did; that this is a world class attraction that you can't miss if... More

This was an outstanding almost whole body experience. To enter the cave and just stand there to be entranced by music and multi projections was special. It was just so effective to sit or walk through the various "rooms" to experience the projections that told wonderful stories accompanied by excellent soundtracks. If you are in the area, do it! Great... More

Stepping into this cavern we were instantly in awe of the light show that surrounded us. Amazed we continued to walk through the interior of this massive structure. Walking was easy. Information was scattered throughout giving informative insights of how this awesome attraction originated.
