My partner and I were kind of underwhelmed by this place but the kids loved it so that's what matters. We didn't spend too much time here which made it a little pricey, my kids kind of flew through all the activities. I did like the gift shop they seemed to have the biggest variety of things in the area.... More

Our animatronic T.Rex is a world apart from the common everyday robotic dinosaur. It cost more than a building full of electric ones and is a lot more expensive to operate. But you get what you pay for and since this is Drumheller so we thought we would give you the best. Besides that is the bar the Royal Tyrrell... More

We visited the Royal Tyrel Museum earlier in the day but didn't want to shop in their crowded gift shop. We stopped at Fossil World and we were pleased with the prices on the souvenirs and unique gifts. Admission for the attractions prevented us from seeing anything more. Kids were happy with the photo ops outside with the fake dinosaurs... More

We get this comment everyday. People are surprised at the wonderful layout, great value and selection our fossil and gift shop offers. We have the largest fossil and gift shop in town so plan to drop on in when you visit Drumheller, it is where the locals shop to take something dinosaur back to their relatives and friends. We do... We decided to do this Canada day. My friend had two young grandsons and I had mine age 11. I felt it might be a bit "young" for him but he was kept amused. We did the fossil dig and the mineral hunt. The young man in the fossil dig was quite helpful to my grandson. He liked panning out... More

Our animatronic T.Rex can be a bit frightening. That is the tradeoff to having a world class robotic dinosaur that is realistic. We are not a replacement for the Tyrrell Museum, we are instead a place for families with young kids to do activities and have a good time like your kids did. Our prices have not increased for 8... The museum part was confusing - I was never sure which fossils were authentic, which were casts, and which were replicas. There were many grammatical errors on the information signs, and some of the information was of questionable accuracy. That being said, there were some specimens that were neat to see, especially the dinosaur eggs. The mining for minerals activity... More

95% of our fossils are real so we do not mark those as real. I will check the specimen cards to make sure all replicas are identified. Most museums do not mark the real and replicas but we do, we are proud to display 95% real fossils. Some of our data does not agree with the global warming alarmist data... More

We were shocked, after meeting the owner, who is well informed and loves dinosaurs (very approachable) really made the visit worth while. Very much a tourist gift shop location but had a great time taking with the owner and him sharing his love for the area.

Well thank you. Too often all we only hear from those who are unhappy about something or other on these forums. My wife and I both have a great passion for our work. We are blessed to work with an incredible staff that shares our love of learning and our service values. Our joy is to share and interact with... More

We took our granddaughter to Drumheller for a few days. While she loved the Royal Tyrell Museum, it was very busy and the attention span started to drift about 2/3 of the way through. Then we stopped during a rain storm at the Fossil World Discovery Center Museum. This was just perfect. Both Nana and Papa helped her with her... More

Thanks for coming in and spending some quality time with your grandkids. Yours was a typical experience when the parents/grandparents are engaged with their kids. The choice of a toy versus a fossil or mineral is a difficult one. Kids know and want toys. Parents know these can be purchased anywhere (except ours are dinosaur specific). Our fossils and minerals... More

This is a must stop if you have kids. There is a huge t Rex that moves and growls, kids fossil dig, and many dinosaur fossils as well as a great gift shop.

We are a perfect fit for kids 3-12. Our T.Rex is very life like because he moves so well (air driven not electrically driven). Our gift shop is filled with fossils, minerals and dinosaur toys, we are the largest gift store in Drumheller. Some people find our store to be a mini museum as it too is filled with high... More

This place charges to get in and each thing you want to do cost more. All we did was mineral dig because that alone is 12.00 a kid. Fun place, I think it is too much admission for what you see because the place is not that big.

Our museum entrance fee is only $6.00 a person or $24.00 for the family. Most people find this a great value to view our animatronic T.Rex that is one of the best in the world, use our play structure, coloring area, BBC movie about dinosaurs, ipads with dinosaur apps, see our world class trilobites, dinosaur eggs, teeth and claws (the... Fossil World is a great experience for the whole family. There is a little bit for everyone including a scary robotic T.Rex dinosaur, excellent fossils , a climbing wall and a dig for fossils. Super cool and a great way to spend the day with the kids!

Yes our animatronic T.Rex can be scary but that is what happens when you have really good quality 21 ft robotic dinosaur. Most kids adapt pretty quickly. Our fossils in the fossil dig are real, and the kids get to take home their favorite one. More
