We go there every year for the past 8 years, but the last 2 years the new campground couple are extremely strict and rude (no fun allowed). They complain about noise all the time. Kids and adults are just having fun! Beautiful environment and lovely place for families and adults, but the campground hosts should be replaced!!!

Great campground, a little hard to find, the signage is spotty but it's worth the drive. All sites are waterfront with only 2 not having water access. The campground hosts are very friendly and keep on top of things. I've been to other campgrounds that allow uncontrolled noisy kids to disrupt the whole campground, no so here. If you must stay at a provincial campground, this is one of the best, nice and relaxing.

This beautifully laid out campground is truly a hidden gem. Has nice campsites and the area is well maintained and looked after. Stunning views.

It is a beautiful campsite and I would have loved to stay longer or return but our experience was diminished by the nasty old couple who runs the place. Was there for 1 night, paid 75$ for sites and extra parking, and we were constantly confronted about the (non-existent) noise and the fact that we had extra vehicle at our site (that I paid 11$ extra to have there). Before we could even check in, we were given dirty looks and told no "party hardy and quiet time is at 10pm, that means no music or anything"... We were extremely respectful, had no music, were quiet and took great care of our site but had grumpy old man swing by on his quad at 10:02 pm to harass us for laughing and told us if we continued we ought to just "pack up and leave right now". It felt like he was just looking for confrontation or an argument. We had 3 tents and a hammock set up and he told us our sites looked like downtown Victoria (what?) His wife also returned in the morning to tell us this is a family place, we were noisy, our neighbours left because of us, there are plenty of other free sites in the area we could enjoy, and to check out ASAP. We were a small group of 5 adults, we had 2 sites, were in bed by midnight, felt completely unwelcome and not like a valued paying guest. Will not return.

The campground "hosts" were rude and confrontational. We needed to move our car off the side of the rode. Fine. I understand the rules are the rules, but the whole time we were in the process of moving it the guy was going off about how he was going to call a tow truck and have it towed away. And this was after we said we would move it! His wife was no better. We have never felt more unwelcome in all our years of camping. Was treated like a criminal. I'll never go there again. Now I know trolls are real.

I have camped at a lot of provincial park in my day but save your money and go somewhere else. I believe he thinks he owns this provincial park.I have heard people complain about him for a few years but didn't think anything of it. This guy was absolutely rude to my children because they were being "loud". They're kids, were outside.

WE love this campground as it is close to town and great for families. Its quiet at night so kids can sleep and we love the beach and dock. Well looked after and clean outhouses.

This review is for the Loveland Bay Campground. We arrived there late one night as we unexpectedly ended up having to spend the night in Campbell River. It was a Thursday before the long weekend and it looked like all of the sites were booked up - the only problem with the Provincial Campgrounds is that there is no way of finding out if there's vacancies in the first come first serve sites until you arrive, and there was no sign saying No Vacancy on the road. We stopped and talked to the campground operator's and they were very friendly, found us a place to stay just for the one night and delivered fire wood right to the campsite. It's a rustic campground with a nice setting right on the lake and really nice sites with lots of trees. I would suggest making a reservation online before going, or arriving early in the day to check for vacancies.

We stayed in a double site where we all had lake view & access. We lucked out on having some fabulous weather! We are avid kayakers so we took advantage of venturing way out past the Bay. The facilities were very clean and well taken care of. I'm not sure why so many negative reviews towards the caretakers... we thought they were great and very friendly!?! We will definitely be back and hopefully can make it a yearly visit.

If you are lucky enough to get a lakefront site and the weather is nice you would like to stay for ages. Sandy beach here and there. Lots of fun on the water and with some luck you can catch a fish or two.

I'm wondering what site number this was? or if you can't remember specifically at least what area of the campground. We've never been here before but would like help in picking a site with a nice swimmable area. Thanks!

We're planning to book a site here for our family this summer. We've got 3 young kids and are looking for a site with good swimming. Any suggestions on which site to book?
