Don't drive too fast or you will miss the small car parking bay next to the highway.
The way to the viewpoint is mainly in the forest which makes it a good tour on very sunny days. It takes 2,5 to 3 h to get to the end of the track - the reward is a stunning view on the Discovery Passage!

About 4k trail very rough in sections takes you to the view of the narrows, a great place to see cruse ships go by if you time it rite. Not many do but I have swam in the little bay just befor the view point it can be very warm and has a sandy bottom just out from shore. Don't like the stairs at the end so ugly, but functional

As always, this attraction gets full marks helped, in part, by being free. As more and more families are being priced out of a decent vacation, I applaud this sort of opportunity. The story behind Ripple Rock is truly amazing, this trail is awe-inspiring and...local secret, you can take your fishing rods with you and catch a couple of cod for supper at the cliff.

This is a lovely hike! watch the time of year because of bears.......also be careful about valuables left in your car. Next time I'm taking a picnic.....it is pretty amazing. The hike itself is good but some steep.....so wear good shoes, not a sandal hike.

This is a great hike, but in recent years a staircase has been added near the end of the trail which makes it a lot less adventurous... I enjoyed scrambling up the rock face / trail. Beautiful lookouts along the trail. Nicely maintained. Bring water. Should have at least average fitness level to complete. It is steep in many sections.

Walked this trail last month. It is a good climb up but when we went the trail was dry and in good shape. They have put in stairs for a couple of the climbs. We enjoyed a picnic at the top before starting the walk down.

The hike took us approx 1 hr 45 mins there and 1 hr 30 mins back. I would say its moderate difficulty. There are some steep sections but a lot of flat sections as well.
I'm not overly fit but I managed it no prob. There are several beach viewpoints. The tide was out but otherwise it would be a great place for a swim. We did encounter a black bear on the way back but he took off up the hill.

I've done this hike a few times and this time was just as good as any before. They've done some upgrading to the trail. The first kilometer or so has been widened. Probably due to the fact they installed a new bridge. The rest of the trail is as remembered. Some elevation changes but nothing a beginner hiker with good legs can't complete. The end view is always spectacular on a warm sunny day. It's very open to the environment at the end. If it's rainy you might not want to spend much time on the bluffs. You overlook the Seymour narrows and the rushing tides and whirl pools. You can time it right if you know the schedule of the cruise ships to watch them go by right in front of you. You are the same height as the top of the boats and look down on the riders passing by. They are literally a stones throw from the beach.

This well-maintained 5-mile round-trip trail takes you out to the narrowest point in the Inside Passage between Vancouver Island and the mainland. We arrived in time for the tide to change and saw the tugs and barges taking advantage of the flood. Fascinating to read the history of the destruction of Ripple Rock, a major marine hazard.

A lovely 3-hour there and back again walk, through beautiful woodland and ending with stunning views on Quadra Island.A little more than easy, so be prepared to sweat in BC's summer heat.
