About
Castlegar Sculpturewalk is an annual exhibition of outdoor sculptures, located on a pleasant walking tour in downtown Castlegar. Viewers are encouraged to vote for their favourite sculpture via ballot - the winner of the People's Choice award is purchased by the City for the permanent collections. All of the artworks are available for sale or lease. Ballots/maps are located in red ballot boxes along the route (the start of the route is at the Kootenay Market (635 Columbia Avenue), though you can begin the walk from anywhere. Ballots/maps are also available at the Castlegar Chamber of Commerce, City Hall, or the Kootenay Gallery.

Did this self-guided search-and-find sculpture walk with the help of the map downloaded from related website. Did it about 5pm so it was not too hot and the streets were quiet. Got to see about 80% of all sculptures which are all beautiful and inspiring. Apparently could vote for your favourite sculpture so the winner will be chosen as a permanent display in Castlegar. Love this walk just before going to restaurant in the area for dinner.

Unbelievably cool! There are so many different styles of sculpture and art scattered across castlegar filling one with a sense of wonder. It is interesting to see this community reinvent itself; to see tourist walking along and taking pictures and sketching these fantastic creations. They bring an element of joy to castlegar. Bravo!

You must walk it to see it. The whole walk from beginning to end is only about eight blocks and easy sidewalk the whole way. Sculptures change every year so it is in a constant state of flux. We walked June 2022. There are some very cool pieces along the walk.

Each year a competition is held and there are about 30 exhibits around the town. Some are very attractive and fun, others are weird and I don't understand their meaning! Get a guide from Visitor Information or some shops & hotels and try to find them. Good fun to discuss with other tourists. You can then vote for the winner or put in a bid to buy one at the end of the season!!!

I stumbled across this walk over the weekend and was blown away by some of the sculpture pieces. This is an easy walk with plenty of interpretive signs along the way. I really liked the Indigenous Camas preservation area the most

Well worth a walk through town. A unique approach to public art that marries peoples choice with local, national and international art.

I saw another review that says the sculptures are all locally made and that is NOT true. They appear to come from all around the world. They are nicely arranged so that you can do a nice walk and get most of them in. Every year the sculptures change though some stay forever now as they get bought by local businesses and people.
