I'm really amazed by the story of this man. It's not a big area and there is not much to see, but it's beautiful and peaceful. Interesting history. Apparently , Mr.Zuckerberg taught my dad Russian in the late 40's !!

Been years since I spent time down in 'the pits' and wow! has it changed! Waling trails, benches, flowers, exercise stations... This area is rocking! Love to spend more time down on the river.

A neat walk over a suspension bridge and a quick tour of the island was a great distraction from the normal touristy attractions of Castlegar. If you have 15-20 mins, I'd suggest getting out of the car, stretching your legs and exploring the tiny island.
