I took riding lessons there years ago on Liza then Finn shortly before they moved to Mission and I loved it. I left when they moved to Mission because they were too far out. I have always wanted to go back to visit but have never had the time.

My daughter participated in their summer camp. Though she was there all day she only spent about half an hour on a horse each day. The rest of the time she cleaned their stalls and played in the yard while the adults sat on the deck smoking!! Would never go back. Terrible experience.

Vicki, I am sorry you had a negative experience at our facility. Each day children are on the horse for 1 hour in length it takes them 30 mins to get ready and 30 mins to untack the horse afterwards. In the 5 hours the kids are here. 2 hours is spent on the riding lesson, 1 hour is spent on the theory lesson and 30 mins or so on lunch and we have a snack as well. The children, generally participate in 30 mins of water bucketing filling and feeding each day all the staff actually do the stalls each day. Perhaps the day you are speaking of was one where the theory lesson was on how to clean a stall. From the timeline you can see there just isnt time for the kids to do chores, thats why we have staff to do it in addition to the camp staff. Our camps are all about learning and some of that is learning about taking care of the horses. The staff you are referring to are actually staff that do not participate in the camp - they manage the other aspects of the farm, such as chores, phone calls etc. In mentioning the children playing in the yard - in the last few minutes yes we allow the kids to play games around the barn yard while they wait for their parents to pick them up. Sometimes they learn about tadpoles which they catch and take home, some just run off some energy and some just like to socialize with the other kids. In the five years we have been doing camps we have learned all of these things combined great and overall experience for the kids. Again, I am sorry that you had a negative experience and we hope you might consider us again.

Second time riding a horse. I ended up riding a horse named "Sassy". 15 minutes into the ride I ended up being bucked off and suffered a broken back, contusion on the lung and a hematoma in my lower back. Can't work. Lots of pain...think twice about booking with these horses

Mama Bear, I will write the same response I did on our FB page to your review. We are very sorry you have injured yourself. We take alot of care into our horses and the services we provide. Unfortunately sometimes accidents are unavoidable despite the amount of risk mitigation we do and that is the chance that we take when we put people without any riding experience on our horses. Sassy has done close to 80 beginner trail rides just this year without incidence so I dont think we can blame her. For those who are looking for additional reviews please visit our Facebook page.

I have been riding with Alicia at Hylee training for five years and it has been a great experience. Aside from our lessons, she has taken us fox hunting, x country jumping and out on the trails. She doesn't sugar coat things and is an encouraging and patient coach. Her lessons are always challenging and well planned out. She tailors her teaching style to each individual rider and her horses are top quality and well cared for. We will miss her and her horses in the LMD. Prince George is lucky to have Hylee Training!

Visited this farm recently and am so inspired by the work that has gone into the trails and riding rings. I don't ride myself but loved the horses and the owners passion for them.

my two boys have been training with Alicia , they went from little tiny green boys afraid of the horses, to boys that have confidence , skills, balance and respect. They have grown so much in the months they learned from Alicia. they are sad that they won't have her as their trainer anymore, but she has set them on the right path to continue there ridding. I would highly reccomend anyone that want to get some proper and skilled direction to join hyper training. Very knowledgeable and skilled and truly a family fun environment !!! can't say enough ! LOVE LOVE LOVE

Love this place! Rustic homey farm with a lovely relaxed feel. Great lesson horses and excellent coaching without the feeling like my boots were too dirty or I didn't fit in. Friendly for kids with lots of other animals......much better than some snooty places I've ridden at.
