Beautiful and worth the walking!

Mission is known for the hills, and the Abbey is no exception. But the view and sights you'll see will be worth it!

I hadn't been to the Abby for years. Great to go back to this peaceful place and great views of the Fraser valley. Not as many walkways as I remember but thankful the the church still allows the public to have access

Wish I could stay longer at the Abbey. Fall on your knees and feel the blessing streaming down on you. Beautiful altar and the crucifix above it. Lovely stained glass designs. Make sure you dress appropriately when visiting - no shorts. Explore the gardens. There's short trail at the back where you get a superb view of the Fraser River... More

As you approach Mission from the East you can see a lovely tower high on a hill side - this is Westminster Abbey. As well as being a beautiful building, this is a community of Benedictine monks in Mission. We went into the Abbey and were amazed by all the lovely stained glass windows, statues and artifacts. Outside is a... More

This is a lovely place! So peaceful and tranquil. A few walking trails over the grounds that are easily managed. There is an amazing viewing area that looks over the Fraser Valley and is breathtaking. I've been here a few times, but my first time there I experienced the chanting of the monks. Wow, so very cool.

A very spiritual and beautiful place. The bell tower and Church are awe inspiring. The grounds are old growth moss covered trees with the biggest rhododendron trees I've ever seen. There is always something in bloom. Walking through the grounds only takes 1/2 hour or so. But once you get to the viewpoint you'll want to spend some time there.... More

The magnificent Abbey of Saint Joseph of Westminster is located in Mission BC If coming from Vancouver it is best to get to Maple Ridge on Lougheed Hwy. Turn East on Dewdney Trunk Road,( the road sign reads Dewdeny Trunk to the left and Ridge Meadow to the right, there is a Staples store at this corner, very visible to... More

Our family likes to visit the Abbey and show it to friends and family from out of town. Its a neat place to walk around and explore. The look out beyond the Abbey is nice too. We toured inside the Abbey once, the stained glass windows were beautiful.
