Nelson Baker Street is one of the most perfect days you can have with your friends. The Nelson vibe is contagious, such love, intention, beauty and integrity...and a friken fun day. Don't tell everyone...

Lovely street, great shopping, but local community need to sort the parking out - nowhere to park if you want to spend the day here.

An eclectic mix of eateries, art, clothing, gifts shops and a lot of banks. Parking was very difficult to find and was only available in two hour zones. We had to park MANY blocks away and had to remember which way to turn the vehicle's wheels while hill parking. Since we were there on a Wednesday, there was a Farmers'... More

Baker street in nelson was very interesting! A lot of the old buildings have been restored on the inside but keep that outside charm. Cool shopping stores, people are kind, so all around great place to a load off for some good food and drinks.

We enjoyed the old style architecture, the lovely plants, the colours, the view of the mountains and the fantastic view of the West Arm of the Kootenay River. There are many neat restaurants with places for families and lots of nice dining for the 'mature' crowd. There were a few pubs too for all the young folk and not-so-young folks.

Can't visit Nelson without a stroll down BakerSt. Unique shops (no they aren't all bong shops but there is that too) fabulous shoe shops (seriously fabulous) cool metaphysical stuff if that moves you -and- great eats•treats•treasures to behold on BakerSt.

Grab a treat from a shop and take a seat. People watching is great! August before and after Shambala is extra interesting. Save time to circle for a parking spot amongst the heritage buildings.

We usually make it through the interior of BC every summer, and generally stop off in Nelson for a day of shopping at the quirky and interesting variety of shops. There are no real 'chain stores', and I am personally impressed that Baker Street has something like three independent book shops! There are also some great clothing and sports shops,... More

There are many little shops and restaurants tucked away. Make sure you walk up the side streets for hidden surprises!

Parking is always an issue but generally if you drive up a few streets, something can be found. Free parking after 5 pm for parking meters. There are good restaurants and shops for almost anything you can imagine. Very good shoe stores with good quality shoes and a huge assortment. Check out VIBE on Baker downstairs as this little shop... More
