From miniature scenes to being able to get inside one time working train cars- worth the trip. We spent an afternoon there wandering through the exhibits. Was truly great to see the cars set up with the actual items that were used and the volunteers made it realistic and enjoyable.

This is a very nicely done railway museum focussing on western Canadian railways with a good mix of exhibits including a glorious steam engine and train simulator to let all the budding engineers (like my husband) live out their dream job.

Everyone loves trains, right? Revelstoke was a key point on the CPR's route connecting Western and Eastern Canada via the notorious Rogers Pass. The museum is informative and cool - you can even "drive" a locomotive for a looney or 2! The rail stock is amazing and you get to walk through/into a couple. We ended up spending several hours... this is a very good stop as it's educational, interesting, and the displayed items are mostly from the locals. the train simulator is a hit with kids super to do on a rainy day...

Being a engineer operating trains out of Revelstoke years ago in my youth, I was interested in the old pictures kept in the archives. I was looking at old steam engine pictures and came across the train wrecks section and low and behold here were two pictures showing a train wreck that I was involved in many years ago. The... My friends and I learned a lot about the history of the railway. We enjoyed admiring all of the displays. Additionally, we were even lucky enough to see a bear in the trees.

Even if you have only an hour, a visit to this museum will inform you about the trials encountered in building and maintaining a rail line through the Rogers Pass. It is nicely laid out with good graphics, explanations, photos, models, and artifacts. You can visit a luxury (but unrestored) carriage that is inside, walk around a steam engine, and... More

I was surprisingly intrigued with everything the museum had to offer inside and outside the building. Worth the $10 entry fee. Ironically got stuck in the parking lot... by a passing train :)

Enjoyed the Revelstoke Railway Museum, great display with photo's and artefacts from the period. The trains were amazing to walk around and remember times gone by. Reading the stories about the different people that came from all over the world to build the railroad and their stories. Enjoyed seeing the old train cars outside, and especially seeing the cargo trains... More
