About
R.J. Haney Heritage Village and Museum is located on the east side of Salmon Arm at 751 Highway 97 B, it is the Shuswap's largest heritage destination. Your admission includes access to the Heritage Village and Museum, Children's Discovery Centre & Outdoor Play Area, Sprig of Heather restaurant, walking trails, daily activities and tours. A must-see is our very popular Villains and Vittles Dinner Theatre Production. You can enjoy a home-cooked meal and live theatre every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday evening in July and August. Seating is limited. Some of the best memories are made at R.J. Haney Heritage Village & Museum, and a visit from May through September is well worth the trip!

My husband and daughter were jogging and came upon this sight without seeing signs of paying dues to be on the property. A staff member, Bruce approached them and accused them of lying and being being deliberately evasive. My husband came back later to contribute $20 to being on the lane for the 5 minutes. Upon talking to the supervisor, Susan, she excused and defended Bruce’s behaviour. She said hundreds of people do this all the time, so she’ll treat every individual as being deceitful. So much for being a good person and a decent business owner. These people definitely do not have people skills to be in the tourism industry. We have friends camping in this area year after year and will not recommend this “attraction” and will definitely be giving a review on every sight about their shameful behaviour.

The family enjoyed this small museum. It took us a couple hours to go through it. To make it better they could have had a coffee shop with pastries open. The restaurant is only open on certain days and we did not know this. The scavenger hunt for the older kids was a great way to get them engaged. The whole place is really clean and well kept. They make you put on hand sanitizer if you choose to visit the store. This is post Covid.

My wife attended the most interesting display at the Museum gallery nestled in a beautiful setting. We then walked through the forest that goes over bridges and along a creek.
Next we had a wonderful lunch at the Sprig of Heather Restaurant. Great food and service. All in Heritage Village setting of numerous displays and exhibits. Well worth a visit.

This well kept Village and high quality of the museum is worth the trip. The beautiful setting animates to move from one informative exhibiton in the village to the next house with new information of living style and culture in this town. The nature trail is a relaxing walk around the exhibiton.
A little gem in Salmon Arm.

A little gem. If you like to learn about local history. Beautiful setting, knowledgeable staff and a great overall visit. Restaurant with home cooked meals. We have been through Salmon Arm for years and never stopped by. What a shame. They have a dinner theatre program as well….

Whole family went for lunch. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Server was charming and patient with us.
I had the egg salad sandwich (yes, I know I can make this at home). It was tasty and the homemade bread was a real delicious treat.
Don’t miss the rhubarb dessert with a bit of ice cream.

Have been in the area almost 10 years andonly just found this place. We were welcomed so warmly were given botha tour of thehouse and a "village tour" The young lady , our guide was full of information and so eager to share it. While it is an ongoing project it is worth a visit and we willbe there again and with our grandchildren. we did not have enough time for a proper visit to therestaurant but plan to correct that next time or at one of their evening dinner theatre presentations.

This is a walk through history with virtually all the buildings from the early days of Salmon Arm and its vicinity. They have a dinner theater and different types of entertainment also,

We were there on a Tuesday, most buildings were closed except the church, school and museum. They are open Wednesday - Sunday in the summer...
School was a reminder of the way it used to be 70+ years ago in rural areas. Sled desks, inkwells etc.
Museum had a nice display of the early laundry, circa 1910, as well as the telegraph equipment and some WW1 photos and an original Canadian army uniform.
Outside the garage was a vintage model T, a converted Willy's jeep and some old farming implements.
Church was a small original building.
The smal flower garden completed the area.
