The ferry left on time! Beautiful scenery. Make sure you know the city you depart from. We thought we were leaving from Seattle and it turned out to depart from Port Angeles. The ferry was fun. It had a gift shop, discount on excursions near our destination and a Duty Free shop!

The service and protocols are professional, tried and true. There is little flair or room for innovation. But that is fine, the experience is predictable and seemingly safe. I would like to see more private sector innovation, more service offerings, better user interfaces, but for now, solid.

We travel to Vancouver Island to visit family and we love the trip. Whether be Tsawwassen departure or Horsehoe Bay, we find it a time to relax enjoying beautiful views.

BC Ferries has a lot to deal with, and most of it comes from the top down. The management of the ferry system has been iffy at best. First, Premier Campbell put it in the hands of an American businessman who totally messed up pricing, schedules, ignored the local people who use it most often for work, etc. Terrible job... More

The hour and half sailing from Tsawwassen to the Island is always a relaxing and peaceful time out. It's a good chance to catch up on some reading, watching the scenery lazily pass by or just a quick 40 winks. Food on board is almost always good - it's not fine dining, but for a ferry - it's good. There's... More

Very easy to travel, walk-on is the way to go. Very helpful staff and very nice ships. Good food and coffee on board at good prices. Comfy seats and lots of room.

Great way to navigate from mainland to island. Take your own food as it is expensive on the ferry. Seating is very comfortable and the clothing stores on board have great selection.

The Coastal Renaissance is a nice new ferry. We went into the Seaweat lounge on both of sailings. It was alright. We were told about the quiet rules when we came in yet a passenger was still playing a game on their iPad in full volume and the employee didn't seem to care. Snacks were ok. Starbucks coffee was included... More

Hi Joanna M, Thank you for your review. The Coastal Renaissance is one of our largest ships with a vehicle capacity of 310 and passenger capacity well over 1500. It features many amenities like the SeaWest Lounge, but also our Coastal Cafe and Sitka Coffee Place- great areas to grab a delicious bite before tracking down a coveted window seat.... More

We have taken this approximatelys 2 hour sailing a number of times. The ferry terminal in Nanaimo is small and doesn't have a lot to offer. It's okay for coffee, tea, bagels or vending machine snacks. It does have clean washroom facilities. Onboard the ferries, there is cafeteria style food service, as well as, a small gift shop. We have... More

Hi smittysca, Thank you for your feedback. The Experience Card is a great product designed to reduce cost for frequent commuters between small and large communities. There are available discounts on almost all minor routes, such as Horseshoe Bay to Langdale, for those traveling for work, groceries, or school. While the major routes between Vancouver and Vancouver Island do not... More
