We booked this after reading the great reviews and we weren't disappointed. Beforehand I thought it was quite expensive for the hour trek however after experiencing it we all felt it was money well spent. The staff were excellent and the dogs were great and the scenery was stunning in the snow. We would thoroughly recommend.

What an amazing experience! Definitely worth it for those that want to do something other then skiing; or even just take a break from the slopes for a few hours. We took part in the "Moonshiners" tour, which gave us ample opportunity to interact with the dogs before the trip and fully immerse ourselves in the dog sledding experience, including driving the sled the whole time. Christian was an amazing guide and made sure our time in the mountains was enjoyable. Not a bad cook either!
So much fun, worth every penny, even the drive out with Roy was a great time. Hes like the tour guide you never knew you needed.

Wow, impressive, time-of-your-life are only few of the many words that come to mind after experiencing this adventure... first off safety measures, then meet and great all of the friendly powder hounds, then bundle up and “hike”! My fiancée and I were mesmerized by the majestic scenery, the excitement of our pack whisking us through an absolute winter wonderland until we reached our warm campfire lunch. After venturing across Canada trying different tours: Quebec City, Canmore, Kananaskis, Revelstoke, Golden, Lake Louise this little oasis called Cold Fire Creek is simply the best! It is family operated by owners who are dog safety keen, professional in every way and lead by a lovely family (Mandy, Darin, Cassidy, Jordyn)and hand picked guides who only want to show you a true Canadian experience!

What a fantastic experience. The crew was so helpful and personable, the dogs were well looked after and the equipment was in great shape. They took the time to make us feel safe and comfortable. The trails were beautiful. They were also very thorough in their communication to allow us to be prepared and ready.
My only negative was that I only booked the 1 hour tour and I wish I would have booked the three hour tour. Next time!

My son and I did the one hour dogsledding experience. He did the mushing and, because I am in a wheelchair, I was the passenger. It was a phenomenal experience for me and he did awesome as the musher. The dogs were gorgeous and friendly and they listened to his instruction well. The weather was perfect at 1 or 2 degrees above zero. We would recommend this experience to everyone and especially those who appreciate dogs.

My husband and I and our three x12 year old kids all LOVED this tour. We opted for the longer three hour tour which is definitely pricey but when you see the set-up and number of dogs involved you can understand why. Our guides Mandy and Taylor were both lovely and the dogs were gorgeous, friendly and clearly very well loved and cared for. Taylor was very accommodating in letting our kids tandem drive with her and they loved being able to be more than just passengers for the ride. An amazing, once in a lifetime type tour topped off by some stunning scenery.

Amazing tour through the back country Yellowhead area. The sky was quite overcast so the mountain peaks we obscured but the sense of a pristine snow covered terrain was quite spectacular. Our tour included an open fire cooked lunch and snacks that nicely topped off the day. We toured about 18-20 km. into the incredibly quiet untouched valley. Our guide Christian was very informative and his care of the dogs impressive. Even our 1+ hour transfer from Jasper to the trail head was informative and enjoyable thanks to our driver Roy. Suggest dressing just as you would if skiing and ski goggles would be helpful on a snowy day.

*After experiencing tours in Quebec City, Lake Louise, Canmore this by far is my favourite in so many ways. Amanda Sinclair (nearly 20 years professional experience, indigenous) offers a wonderful true life glimpse of the great outdoors. She takes pride in her trade and grants her pack the best lifestyle and comforts. Cold Fire Creek Dogsledding is a bucket list adventure in a pristine backdrop perfect for animal lovers, outdoors enthusiasts and families. Any day is the best day to run with the pack!
If you are lured by the call of the wild, come and explore!

Our 6 yr Old Daughter has always been fascinated by Wolfs and Husky's and well dogs in genera. For Spring Break this year we decided to head to the Mountains and enjoy the clean brisk air along with the overall beauty of the surroundings....
Jasper Park Lodge, Jasper AB was our first stop for 2 days and 2 nights.......
Just 1.5 hours West of Jasper we decided would be the surprise for our Daughter to introduce to Dog Sledding..
We did the 60 min which was incredible however we are already looing forward to do the overnight where you stay in a cabin on the mountain managed by Cold Fire Creek
The Guides were incredible
We all got to Drive the sleds and our Daughter even had her turn driving the sled along side the Guide.
There are /were closer options available however i will choose to drive the 1.5 hrs again the next time

What an amazing experience this was!
My wife and I were team one (front of the pack) riding along with the owner who was a wealth of knowledge which she was more then happy to share through out our trip.
Before the sledding had even started the staff were super friendly and my wife and I being the animal lovers we are, we were checking out the dogs to see if they are treated well lol and they definitely are!
We seen multiple staff checking over an paying attention to the dogs while they were getting treats an what looked like a watery soup of some sort which the dogs loved.
Dogs were all super friendly an most were up for a pat for the rest of them they were all super excited to get going for a run. This is one of the best experiences we have had while away from australia on an overseas trip (we have been on quite a few) Also got a hot drink an home made cookies an cake after the sledding which was delicious.
Keep up the good work guys looking forward to coming back. 👍

Hi, what dates does this tour run from during the year? Thanks
Written May 22, 2018
I don't know what date in December it starts, but I know absolute last day for sledding is April 10th. April 11th every year is when snowmobilers can start to use the trail, so dogsledding is officially over.
