What a great place to walk.
Aug 2020
This is the Sunset Point Park

I loved that place, so attractive!

Th trees were colorful.

There were a lot of bodies of water.

There is an inuksuk, beautiful!

Benches to sit.

Most of the people here walk and enjoys in this place!

The dog swims in the lake.

There is a huge boulder. People swim here!

I love this place!

Attractive for walking and

A shelter

I wish I could go back every day

A must see!

Beach Front Park in downtown Collingwood

Large beach accessible park. Busy on a nice day but lots of paid parking using a convenient app on your phone.

Gorgeous Views

The best part of Collingwood is that all the trails connect with each other, so that if you are into walking long distances you can travel quite a ways along the waterfront. Beautiful scenery, and well maintained trails make it worth the time. Lots of parking, and benches along the trails.

Beautiful view of the sunset

Beautiful place to view the sunset. The sun sets over the mountains and it is nice to view from the part of the park with rocks protruding out into the water. Parking is paid through an app, so be prepared for that if you're driving there.

Lazy Afternoon by the Lake

Lots of fossils to find in the rocks. There is a playground nearby under the shade of trees. The kids spent a couple hours just turning over stones and playing by the water's edge. Lots of people around picnicking but there is plenty of space for everyone to have their own space.

Caught a sunset here

What a beautiful park - we drove over to catch the sunset and were rewarded. It was windy and cold but we're glad we made the effort!

Beautiful Scenery but.....
Sep 2020
During our visit my daughter and I stopped by just to take a few pictures by the waterfront.
It’s always so beautiful here with the big boulders by the beach and listening to the waves crash against them.
This isn’t my first time coming here and was shocked to see that you have to pay for parking!
There are trails nearby and public washrooms to use.
You can sit with a blanket anywhere and enjoy the view & the weather.
The sunset and sunrise is always gorgeous here.
I heard it got tremendously busy with people.
I guess that’s why they started to charge for parking.
Which is pretty disappointing.
That’s why I only gave it a 3 star.

Sunset Point used to be a lovely relaxing place and a very treasured spot by the local residents of Collingwood.

Unfortunately it has morphed into a very ugly scene especially on summer weekends. Early in the morning the Minivans and SUV's start rolling in from the Toronto suburbs many packed with every single extended family member that could fit plus a barage of tents, tables, food and supplies remiscent of 3 day refugee camping trip. Then 5 more accompanying vehicles related to that extended family roll in. All this under the guise of groups no more than 10 people.

Many of the people that visit are lovely. Others though are not following the rules ruining it for others blatantly BBQ'ing right under the large signs that say NO BBQ's, digging holes to leave human waste in, hoarding large areas of the park, parking illegally, and constantly stopping in the middle of the road clogging traffic.

Yes By law officers and OPP are down there but the park is getting out of control from these large family groups. Too many people are being allowed to come into the park especially with Covid protocols.

Out of town visitors will now have to pay for parking which they implemented on Labour Day Weekend. It is about time!!! Enough of this freeloading and disrespect of a beautiful park.

Washroom facilities are not adequate due to limiting number of toilets available due to Covid distancing.

The town of Collingwood needs to move quicker on the over crowding crisis and abuse of this once enjoyable park.
