The forerunner of Muskoka's popularity as a golf destination, par 72 Deerhurst Highlands remains a must-play renowned for its layout which flows naturally through a rugged yet lush landscape of granite outcroppings, deep valleys and heavy forests. Beyond the drama of holes like #10, where tees perch 30 feet above a rock wall, and surprises like a links-style swirl, playability is key throughout this top-rated 7,011-yard challenge. Featuring practice facility, seasonal lounge and comprehensive Golf Academy.

The course was in such good condition on this Saturday morning in June. Beautiful from tee to green. Nice geographic scenery too.

LOVE, love, love the Highlands course at Deerhurst. I am not a very good golfer but it is so beautiful that it makes up for it. My husband is an avid golfer who always buys a membership to this course. Par 72!

I've played Deerhurst a number of times and each time I played I thoroughly enjoy myself. Number 2 is the number one hole and for a reason. A good drive here though will greatly help your chance of escaping with a par. Holes 4,5,6 are links style . Number 4 you can go for but be careful ! Number 5... More

It was a highland course. Not a few balls disappeared down the hills and woods. The final hole had bulrushes where our balls could finally be found--among several other unclaimed ones left by golfers hurrying yo finish. Most spectacular views ( especially @twilight overlooking waters). Some slopes are steep so care needed in golf-carts.

Peaceful and nice course. Lots of bird waste on the course though, be careful! Staff was friendly, rental clubs were good. Golf carts were good as well.

This is one of the prettiest golf courses I have ever been on. It is challenging though - I lost a lot of balls - if they go into the grass it's deep and thick- you aren't finding your balls. The staff was friendly and they were waiting for us - which is a nice feeling that they address you... More

Did 18 here, nice course for the most part, some areas were a bit beaten up but nothing major. The staff were excellent. Steamers is a great place to eat as well, right next to the pro shop. Would definitely return.

Played course and very much enjoyed it. Very picturesque. Difficult to play the first time, and could use more markers for blind landings areas. Greens had a few marks from people not repairing ball marks but were in very good shape and rolled well. They were tough to play and three putts could be common. Any shots off the fairways... More

Played the Deerhurst Highlands gold course today. I did not play well, but it has a very magnificent layout. Lots of elevation changes, and in very good shape. I would say that I'm glad I played, but not likely to be eager to play again. The course is in great shape, the greens rolled reasonably consistent...even if they were a... More
