We went on August 7/22. To start with, their AC was broken and at least 4 times I heard staff happily talk about getting to go home early. Four of us had prepaid for a flight of 4 wines. We sat on the patio. The server brought us 4 wines each to try. She placed 8 long-stem glasses enough for 2 people on one small slender metal tray that was attached to the patio railing. At any moment they could easily come crashing down. Having to be so careful ruined the experience. Also, she dumped the wine and never checked on us. She didn't seem to care at all. We bought nothing and will never go back. This place has soooo much to learn about customer service. They should go to 13th Street, Ravine, or Colaneri for lessons!

Perhaps FlatRock should actually go and do a wine tasting at either Vieni Estates or Malivoire Winery because they know how to WOW with the experience. FlatRock was the middle of 3 wineries we had tastings booked at for a bachelorette, and was by far the worst! They ruined the experience. There was no one to greet us, the server was ignorant and incompetent. She did not introduce any of the wines, she threw a card on the table. We were at plastic tables and chairs in the sun, no umbrellas. She spilled more wine than she served and spilled repeatedly on some of the guests. She poured one wine over another in the same glass?? She shorted us a few pours and was pissed off when we asked for the 3 glasses our guests were missing. I spoke with the Manager (or whoever seemed to be in charge), and he didn't seem to care!! Vieni was Amazing and Malivoire was Off the Charts!!!

Great wines, great views, great experience!
A special thanks to our Rockstar ~ Tate for managing our large group on a tasting & tour of vineyard and cellars. He was charming, informative and truly passionate about sharing his knowledge and creating a positive experience for all guests. We enjoyed all the wines and were impressed by the service we received by the entire team at Flat Rock.

Had a great time at Flat Rock. The view during the tasting we did was spectacular. We bought several bottles of wine (red, white and rose) as they were quite good. I especially loved the Chardonnay.
Every staff member we spoke to was so friendly, welcoming and helpful.
Will definitely go back.

Visited the vineyard this past weekend (September 26th) and had a wonderful time. The staff were attentive and everything was well organized. Given the current COVID restrictions, we felt very comfortable and safe in the way they set this up. We were outside, with a great view and sipping wonderful wines. In fact, their wines were very good to exceptional, as always. Their Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs are a highlight to any visit. This is our 3rd time at the winery and they have become a essential stop whenever we are in the Niagara region.

I have been back 3 times to purchase their Chardonnay! Every time we visit, the experience gets better. Last time we went on Christmas Eve day, we thought it may not be a good time to go however, our hostess was extremely inviting, shared her knowledge and spared no time to fill our glass upstairs in the special tasting room. What a View! Can’t wait to go back.

The more time we spend at Flat Rock Cellars, the more we like it! From the great wines served by friendly, knowledgeable to the gorgeous view north to the lake and on to Toronto!

Our most recent experience is a great example. Yesterday (Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020), we attended another one of their Rockstar Red Carpet Tastings, this one being "Beer versus Wine: Which fare fares better?", led by the inimitable Tate, who proved that he knows not only wine, but also food and beer.

We've yet to be disappointed by one of their special events.

Best view from a winery in the area. Can't wait to return in the summer to sit outside and enjoy a tasting and picnic on the beautiful property....HOWEVER...
having visited several wineries during this trip, this tasting was a little sterile. Pick wine off a list, taste it, hear a little about it and it's finished!
Most other places have a host who talks to you, asks questions, makes recommendations based on your answers and turns the wine tasting into an experience rather than just drinking some wine.

Flatrock is a winery with huge heart. They want to get to know locals and are incredibly welcoming to visitors. You are not just a transaction to them. You are a guest they cannot wait to serve.

I am particularly grateful to Tate, the head of retail, for the best wine tour of my life. I brought the members of my team from out of town to have a magical experience before our annual retreat. They enjoyed every minute of our one-hour tour, from the depths of the cellar to the incredible view from their private tasting room. We learned so much about wine, the Niagara region, and how Flatrock ensures they're an environmentally sustainable winery.

THANK YOU to Tate and team Flatrock for always going the extra mile with huge love.

This was out first experience at Flat Rock winery and it will definitely not be our last. The first time doing wine tastings that we had 8 wines and absolutely loved each one. The wine is outstanding and the ambiance is perfect. We had Tate as our server and he was so knowledgeable, friendly and made us feel welcome. I ended up joining their wine club as their wines were truly that good. Flat Rock is in the Bench area and you definitely don't want to miss this hidden gem!!
