This place has become my daily Trek for Jogging and cycling. It's located in Huron Kitchener. There are total of 6 different trek routes covering total of around 7 Km. There is small Lake or water body as well. I personally like GREEN and RED Trek. It has multiple Entrances but two of it's are major, One is the main entrance and second is from the Parkvale Drive near Huron Road. Must visit place in Kitchener.

This is the Huron Natural Area, a nice place to enjoy!

Lots of rocks.

They have a place for children.

A statue.

We were lucky to be here. The leaves were falling down. There were different colors on the leaves.

This is a place to walk or hike.

There was a long bridge. Looking outside

There were panels about The Neutral Nation.

We had lots of ponds and lakes.

This is a beautiful place. Many people come here.

This is a must see!

Trail is very popular and busy. Lots of people visible and the parking lot is pretty small. Huron conservation area has lots of mini trails and lots of small bridges and pathways and easy to find something to like for everyone.
They have multiple boardwalks and are nice spots to just take a breather and enjoy the natural area.
My favourite trails were the strasborg and woodland trails - as they were less crowded and boardwalks were nice.
Other trails are good as they are shaded and provide protection from the elements (important during winter windy walks), other areas are open and can become cold during windy days. Fun trail and definitely worth spending an afternoon.

Two Kitchener businessmen had conversations about what to do with the raw land in this area and proposed to set aside some of it for a natural area. What visionaries! We thought we had taken a wrong turn because we were driving in the midst of a huge industrial park when all of a sudden we saw a tiny sign for Huron Natural Area and a tiny parking lot.

Very well kept up trails, many Accessible, a lot of biodiversity, and probably a great place to go monthly to watch how the flora and fauna change seasonally. Dragonflies, damselflies, butterflies, bees pollinating, flowers, cattails, a pond with turtles and fish and mallards, chickadees and warblers galore - all in all a very restful place to go to chill out.

I used to visit this place regularly before there were any gravel or paved paths. Now there are washrooms, a large nature type playground for kids, an outdoor education building for school groups, boardwalks so you don't have to take your chances getting your feet wet and numerous trails to choose from. You can hike up to 2 hours within the park if you stick to the perimeter trails. In one area of the park they have marked out where a native Indian longhouse was located and interpretive signs tell you more about the natives that used to live there. I have seen turtles laying eggs in the sand towards the West end of the park and I have seen a rare pileated woodpecker in the tall forest towards the east end of the park. The largest pond is only a short walk from the parking lot and you can regularly see beavers swimming here. This is a great place for nature lovers whether your biking or hiking.

My husband and I went for a very enjoyable walk at Huron last week. We knew the trilliums were in bloom, and they made for a lovely backdrop for our walk and photos. There were quite a few patrons taking couples and family photos and making memories.
We've been going there for years, before there was even a parking lot, and now it has services and programs to enable everyone to enjoy it for many more.

The vibe of this place is enough to take away any stress. I love walking here alone, or with my favourite aunt, my kids or hubby. Perfect for any level of fitness and an escape to connect with Mother Earth right in the middle of the city!! A must do in Kitchener.
