This is a great visitors centre as they are in an old train station. I found the hours were limited so they were usually closed when I went by and when I did eventually get in I had hoped for more train artifacts (they had lots of maritime artifacts that were interesting but since it is a train station....). There are a couple of old train cars outside and I would love to see one open as a working diner. …

We missed getting into the Visitor Centre as they are only open from May 20 to October 8th. It is open 7 days from 10 to 4 during that season. And in the off season it is open by appointment. Lots of free parking and located right by the harbour and it's wide paved walkway. They did have quite a few brochures out front of the building though. The building is actually an old CN Rail Station and is wheelchair accessible. There were portable washrooms as well. …
