This is part of the Marine and Train Museam. Nice and helpful staff. So if you coe to the visitor centre do loook inte the musem as well because it is small, good and gives a view about the trains and ships which used to operate around this area. Sadly enough, in the past, many shis were lost in storms and many lives lost.

Title: Great Place To Learn About The Area
ID#: 309633725
This visitor's center is located in an old railroad station. In days one by, Owen Sound was serviced by two rail lines but they are long gone. The lady in the office was very helpful and they have a number of brochures that might be of use. One was for the "Owen Sound Historic Walking Tour" which enables you to take a walking tour to see a number of interesting old historic buildings in the town.

There were a lot of brochures but they picked out the most relevant including restaurants. She even highlighted the restaurant gems and we went to one. It was excellent!

This is a great visitors centre as they are in an old train station. I found the hours were limited so they were usually closed when I went by and when I did eventually get in I had hoped for more train artifacts (they had lots of maritime artifacts that were interesting but since it is a train station....). There are a couple of old train cars outside and I would love to see one open as a working diner.

We missed getting into the Visitor Centre as they are only open from May 20 to October 8th. It is open 7 days from 10 to 4 during that season. And in the off season it is open by appointment. Lots of free parking and located right by the harbour and it's wide paved walkway.
They did have quite a few brochures out front of the building though. The building is actually an old CN Rail Station and is wheelchair accessible.
There were portable washrooms as well.
