The visitor centre is in a lovely old stone building. Over three floors you get the entire history of the Rideau Canal. After you learn the history of the canal, walking along it or sailing on it takes on a whole different meaning.

The building the Information Center and Canal and Lock museum is housed in is beautiful. Greeted by very friendly and informative staff. The displays were limited with a couple under restoration. Not a lot of historic information on the actual construction of the canal system....More

The building has four stories. In addition, we could climb some stairs to have a view of the falls. Interesting visit on each floor. Friendly staff. Total visit time about an hour.

We were passing through and stopped for coffee and saw this visitor center. Worth stopping in if you are passing through and have 45 minutes. Nice people.

Dropped into the Visitor Centre to find out about lakes, camping and fishing holes. The attendant was not that knowledgeable and wasn't even aware of some very helpful maps that were in the display upon entry. Pehaps the attendant was more familiar with other topics...More
