Golf on the Roof of the World - When the game of golf is played on a course...

Golf on the Roof of the World - When the game of golf is played on a course carved out of original Rocky Mountain terrain, something fundamental changes. There is a mystery built in. Not just the practical question of where the ball will land, but how will you ever return to urban golf after a magical mountain golfing experience like the one at Silvertip. Designed by world renowned architect Les Furber, the course plays from an approachable 5,089 yards to an awesome championship 7,173 yards, with over 600 feet of elevation change, making it the single most breathtaking mountain course in the world for literally any level of play.

This is an amazingly beautiful golf course with a short, but challenging layout. Bring your camera aaaand your wallet... Actually, the green fees are the only reason I gave this course three out of four stars. $175 is pretty steep or it would have scored 5/5 easy. The course itself is in excellent condition, the greens are quick, but read... More

Les Furber designed this wonderful course and it is perfect: the views are spectacular, the course is wonderfully maintained, and the greens very tricky. The course was busy, but you couldn't tell; it's so spread out and private. From the highway you can't tell there's a course there; on the course, it feels like deep mountain trails. We loved it.

My best round of golf ever. Not by score, but the mountains and the course was just spectacular! Food was also great at the bar and grill there. Will definitely return.

The primary draw to this location is the great photos you'll see on the reviews. Of course, you can take virtually all the same photos without playing golf. My biggest gripe is the price of 175 Canadian Dollars ($140) for tourists (locals pay 105 CADs). If this was a great course I wouldn't object, but it's merely average. The course... More

my wife continually raves about eating on the patio at silvertip. we had lunch there last week and i felt it was overrated and a rip off. $21 for an average burger ..... view is nice, but menu is average at best and after you get the bill you will wonder if the view was worth it when there are... We recently held a corporate golf event at the Silvertip Resort. Our group included expert golfers and complete beginners, but the club handled this challenge beautifully. The club pros provided a group lesson which was followed by a session on the driving range with lots of personal instruction. We then played nine holes on the course, and the Rocky Mountain... More

Was invited out to this stunning 18 hole course. The staff was so well educated, knowledgeable and helpful. The restaurant was fantastic and service was impeccable. Every tee is a postcard picture view. Hands down one of the most beautiful courses to visit and play. I will definitely visit this course every chance I can. Check out Scott Holland the... More

We played 9 holes here. The staff were extremely helpful and nice. Never golfing here before we had lots of questions. They loaded our cart, took time to talk, never rushed us. And the course itself is absolutely breath taking. We got behind in play a little because of just taking it all in and the pictures we HAD to... More

So we decided to try the Silvertip Resort based on the other reviews. We wanted something a bit upscale to end a fantastic weekend in Canmore. The restaurant is located at the golf course which offered a great view, however was a bit hidden on the backside of the building. Fast and friendly service although it seemed like a hint... More
