We are a small family-owned and operated Sled Dog Touring company running dogsled tours out of Canmore, AB in the Kananaskis Provincial Park adjacent to Banff National Park. We have been in operation for 15 years with the British Army our main client. We run 2-hour, Half-Day, and Full-Day. This year we have opened our Kennel for tours during the summer season so we can offer family-dog adventures year round. We specialize in smaller groups and encourage involvement so you can experience dogsledding like a real musher.

We were looking for a sled dog kennel tour in the area and we picked Mad Dogs and Englishmen because of the good reviews and the type of tour described. We were not disappointed and participated in a short trail walk focusing on the history of dog sledding in the area before heading to the kennels and meeting the dogs... More

We did the kennel tour where you get to hang out with the dogs as well as get some sled dog history. The owner was knowledgeable and you can tell he loves what he does. The dogs are so cute and friendly! The kennel area was clean and well kept. I would definitely recommend this tour for dog lovers and... More

We are staying at the motel next door and popped in for dinner tonight. Yummy curries and spicy delicacies on offer. We had butter chicken with rice and a naan bread - just what the doctor ordered. The place is beautifully decked out, has real charm and you can buy home made products too. The lady who runs it is... More

We did the kennel tour today with the owner of Mad Dogs. It was really interesting and he clearly has a great passion for what he is doing, with lots of stories, history and background to dog sledding. We met the dogs, who were all incredibly friendly and absolutely loved a fuss. We were disappointed to have missed the season... More

We had a great time with our tour guide Martin. We did the half day which took us into the forest as well with a lunch halfway through. Martin let me ride with him at the back while my wife relaxed in the sled. The weather turned out to be amazing with stellar views in all directions. The Revenant was... More

We chose Mad Dogs over the other dog sledding companies in the area because it's the smallest company and only take a few people out at a time. We drove two people with a guide in the sled, and our sled was the front one so you got that unique feeling of being completely alone out there with the dogs.... More

Very accommodating and fun crew. They don't put strangers in your sled which is very much appreciated. The guides are very informative and they give a good run-through before letting us drive the team. They let you immerse in the whole experience which is great especially if you're new to the whole Canadian Rockies experience. Yummy snacks provided at the... More

Dawn & Russell (owners) organized a personalized dog sled run for my daughter's 16th birthday. Russell provided a 3 hour private lesson to my daughter and her dog on dog sledding. My daughter hooked her dog up with the dog sled team and went sledding around spray lakes. Unbelievable experience! So thankful that they agreed to take the time to... More

Take the opportunity to drive the sled, totally worth it. Even though it was a warm day in Banff I was glad I added layers as it's much chillier Spray Lakes. Thanks so much to Martin and team Jack, Juanita, Moe, Snicker, Speedy and Sarah for a fun filled afternoon! Lovely dogs that just want to run :-)

We were a group of 3 guys. We had our own sled. Was an amazing experience. We did not have a guide with us, so did not get the full experience and all the info about the dogs. Definitely choose a sled with a guide. PS - these dogs are not like huskies you see in the movies! I was... More
