Our guests will enjoy a three hour walking tour that is equal parts food tour featuring several local food businesses as well as authentic cultural experience that shares the unique history, arts and outdoorsy culture of this scenic mountain town.

My hubs and I are in Canmore as part of a larger group activity. Since we had a “day off’ from our group tour we decided to book this food tour.
We try to book food tours if available where ever we travel. It’s an excellent way to get a local’s view of some of the more eclectic places to eat and drink in their home towns. It’s nothing but a bonus when your guide (Mirit) is passionate and excited to show you some of the best their town has to offer
There were only 2 couples on our tour, but we were treated as though we were the most VIP at every place we went and by our lovely guide.
If you have been disappointed by other food tours, I think you will be really pleased with this one. The servings are generous, and drinks are included in the price.
We were treated to a wide variety of different foods, and textures. We also got coupons for discounts on some of the places we visited.
I only wished we had visited this tour earlier in our trip to Canmore so we could have more time to revisit the great places we ate at on this tour

Having read about this once weekly tour in an airline magazine, we booked 7 spots one Saturday and were very happy we did. Our guide Paula was fantastic. She is a local and knows everyone! Her enthusiasm for her job and the town shone through.
While the tour showcases local restaurants and produce you also learn a bit about the history of the town, where to go and other activities you might like to enjoy. There is heaps of food so don't eat breakfast before the tour - and don't plan a big dinner after either.

What a great way to spend the day in Canmore! My sister, my friend and myself were in Canmore on a girls weekend and signed up for the tour last minute and we were so glad we did. The food and drinks at all of the stops were delicious! The tour included information about Canmore and a short nature walk through town. Pizza and beer, wine, smoked bison carpaccio, steak, salad roll, goji balls, coconut ice cream with grilled pineapple and a fresh veggie wrap left me satisfied but not stuffed. Definitely will do it again!

Five of us took the Canmore Food Tour on a recent Saturday.
The attention to detail, the interesting storytelling and history, and the knowledge of our fantastic Tour Guide Barbara, made this a great experience. And, the places we visited, the food that we ate, and the special beverages that we consumed, were just the "toppings" that finished off the day perfectly. Healthy pizza at Rocky Mountain Flatbread, Delicious Tacos at PD3, Bison Bruschetta at Mountain Mercato....just a few of the delights that we feasted on.
Thanks Barbara for making our day a most memorable one!!!

We took this tour as a part of an anniversary weekend and it was excellent! A great activity for when the weather is in between, not super hot out anymore and too early for the ski season. Walkable for all ages, as the path is roughly 3km around downtown Canmore. The tour guide Callandra was personable and friendly, and her knowledge of the history of Canmore means you learn a little something too. You will eat many delicious foods (look forward to the flatbread made in an authentic pizza oven, and the one of a kind chocolates), and meet fellow foodies from around the world. Canmore's food scene is growing, and this tour highlights some of the best eateries, all committed to serving fresh, local ingredients.

We took this tour as part of our annual girls' weekend, and it did not disappoint. We've taken similar tours in other locations and this was one of the absolute best! So many wonderful things to try: scones, gourmet pizza, first-class wine tasting, tacos, smoked bison, roasted meats... and chocolate, just to name a few. Barb is so knowledgeable and made everything so fun, especially considering the oppressive heat! We are already planning our next escape with Alberta Food Tours.

We had a great food tour with Barb and Paula. The food was fantastic and introduced us to new stops and opportunities in Canmore. Paula was so well versed on her Canmore sites and history and you could sense the passion she has for her town. Barb was awesome as well and we were very lucky to share our experience with these two guides! I really enjoyed the side trip to learn about how Canmore schools are gardening, selling to local restaurants, etc. Thanks for a lovely day. We would definitely do it again and also consider it for upcoming gifts.

My husband and I participated in a Canmore Food Tour in May 2017. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves - our tour guides Karen (President of Alberta Food Tours) and Paula (a Canmore local for 20+ years) were both a wealth of information about local food, art, and history. We visited a range of restaurants and all of the food and beverage samples were very tasty with generous portion sizes. The tour was well-paced and we didn't feel rushed to get to the next location. A great aspect of the tour was that not only did it allow us to try some exceptional Canmore restaurants first-hand, but it also introduced us to additional places to visit on future Canmore visits. We highly recommend Canmore Food Tours as a fun and inspiring way to spend a Saturday afternoon - you'll love it!

There are hand-crafted non-alcohol beverage pairings and alcohol is available for purchase at a discounted price for the guests of Alberta Food Tours.
The inside local's look at the town and quality of the tastings is great and adds up to a wonderful way to spend time in Canmore. Hope you go!

Thanks for your interest in the Canmore Tasting Trail food tour. Definitely arrange for childcare and treat yourself to a few hours of adult fun. The age recommendation for the tour is age 14 and over because children less than that tend to get bored in fidgety over 3 hours and not all the tastings would be suited to their young palates.
