    Excellent wine tasting experience
We had done a wine tasting tour the day before but had heard about this winery and wanted to try it before leaving the area. We will certainly be back, as the wine is excellent. We had no tasting reservation but at the front they arranged for us a tasting at the standing tasting stations further inside the building. My wife and I did a premium tasting and the wines were very good indeed. Our server was a pleasant gentleman and explained when I solicited about the details of the wine club. There is a restaurant that has a great view, but on the door leading out to it there is a note asking you not to go out and take pictures, as there are diners wanting to enjoy their meal without people snapping off photos, which I can appreciate, that would annoy me as well. We didn't go to the restaurant, but had a look at the resort accommodations which looked very nice. Next time.

    Vineyard tour and tasting
This was my favorite vineyard to visit in Osoyoos. Ron gave a great tour of the vineyard, was very knowledgeable. Zrinka was absolutely delightful for the wine tasting. All around outstanding service. The wines were excellent too! I bought a few bottles to bring home.

Another great visit and tasting at Nkmip
This winery is a true gem. We stop in every time we drive through and often make a special trip from Rossland for lunch and a tasting. The wines are superb as is the wine shop. Loyd served us again and sharing his usual top tier service, excellent wine knowledge and big happy smile.

If you know what wine you want it is not worth while doing a wine tasting here. We had a relatively new lady doing the pouring and Loyd was proving details on the various wines. They have a non-refundable tasting fee. We always share a wine tasting as my husband likes red and I like white. Sharing a tasting generally gives us enough wine to have a good idea of what we like. The pours at Nk-mip are very small and since they charge a tasting fee we feel that we just do not get value for the money. We know the wines that we like and find it easier to just purchase the wine.

There a far better wine tasting experiences to be had.

NK'MIP Cellars- Avoid this place at all costs

Sometime ago, it was my wife's birthday and we headed to Osoyoos for her birthday celebration and a quick vacation. We were going to the wineries and we stopped by this place.

Once we were inside the store, we were greeted by the woman in the picture. This picture is not mine; it's a screenshot from a Youtube video where someone posted his/her terrible experience with the same individual. I guess we were not the only ones. Ouch.

When my wife and I walked inside, the rude woman said to us rudely, something along the line of "you're here to taste wine?" My wife's response was: "Sure, thanks." During this time, this rude woman was serving a couple at the counter. Then, she went outside to tend to another couple. I heard she said to them: "You guys have been out here for quite sometime...how's everything?"

Then she returned to the counter. She said to us: "You guys want to taste wine right?" for a second time like we were beggars. My wife again said: "Yeah, sure." The rude woman responded with: "WHAT?" like we were speaking Dutch to her and she didn't understand. Talking about terrible mannerism! Then she grabbed two glasses and disappared to the back for about 5 mins. The couple at the counter was very nice, doing the rude woman's job and told us what to try and even gave us a basic overview (funny that these are customers). The rude woman returned, and said to us: "They are not doing it anymore." I supposed she meant SHE didn't want to help us. It was my wife's birthday and I did not want to ruin her day by making a scene, and so we left.

Perhaps, we didn't look like sophisticated wine tasters so she didn't think we were worthly of her time. Maybe we didn't look like we would buy enough stuff so we were "written-off" right from the beginning. No sale, no service. Staff is absolutely unprofessional. I cannot imagine this rude woman explaining or showing anything to anyone.

Moral of the story: Avoid this place.

We went to the patio resturant and the service was slow, we ordered a rib appetizer and it was cold. Had a hard time getting the attention of the waitress to tell her. We were hungry so we ate it. The waitress seemed cranky. When we told her about it, she didn’t say much. 2 of us had salmon and it was cold too( not even Luke warm) 2 of us had duck and it was cold too. We finally were able to get the attention of the waitress about 15 minutes later and she took back the duck and replaced it with a warmer one. The rest of us ate it because we were hungry. She came back later to say, the cook said duck is med rare so it wouldn’t be very warm. She was not very apologetic or nice about it. Our bill was 200$ and she gave us 32$ off. That is not enough considering all of our meals were cold and took so long and waitress was not very nice

As my niece and her friend enjoyed their tasting, I opted to explore the Gift Shop. Due to the pandemic, I was asked to provide contact information. Although smaller than I anticipated, it was packed with some interesting items. I spent time looking at the various items for sale including books, clothing, food products and other interesting merchandise. I was impressed with the setup as I could see the tasting area where patrons were enjoying the wines. I could shop at my leisure without being bothered by anyone. Once outside again, I was impressed with the stylized fountain situated in front of the Cellars. It featured a stylized horse and rider inside a tepee structure. I am sure it would have been a spectacular view at night because I could see lights strategically placed around the sculpture.

I booked the premium tasting on the same day of our golf game at Sonora Dunes. I didn’t realize that it is on the same resort and only separated by a parking lot! We ended up being 20 min early for our reservation after golf but the kind concierge let us in so we can get some crackers and chocolate bars, as we were starving, to purchase and also to cool down.
We were greeted by our host and was shown to an already prepared table for us. She offered to take pictures of us (she sanitized her hands before handling my phone) and even suggested a few different poses and angles. She’s a pro!
The tasting experience was definitely elevated compared to other wineries. It was in a separate room which was more peaceful and serene, the tasting was leisurely and informative, which made me more appreciative of the wines.
The store carried a variety of merchandise other than wine. We purchased etched Cala Lily coasters, cheese, crackers and ornaments.
Overall, it was an hour well spent and not to be missed!

We were very looking forward to tasting the wines, but we did not have a reservation. We thought we would try just in case they took walk-ins. But no, we were turned away and told we could only taste if we had a reservation. Ok, so the next day we made a reservation and went back. I gave them my name and they said “No, you are not in our system and our system does not take reservations for the same day. You reserved for the next day.” So we were turned away again by the same person as the day before. Ironically, the June 8 review wrote that they “were fortunate to taste without a reservation”. No sympathy, no empathy, no expressions of regret, no no, we would not go back……very disappointing and very unwelcoming.

Wr paid $10 each for the QQ tasting, and the tasting person Lloyd just walked away after talking about only two of the wines in the tasting with no explanation to us and nobody to replace him. We waited for over 15 minutes and no tasting staff acknowledged us. We missed out on over half the wine tasting. Diane the manager was quite rude when we mentioned it to her, and offered only excuses while not even offering an appropriate apology or a refund for the tasting, or even an opportunity to complete the tasting that we paid for. Extremely poor and unprofessional service. Would not recommend.

Upon checking into the resort I was told we needed a reservation for wine tasting which totally did not occur to me, but due to covid protocols was very understandable. Once getting settled into our room we called the wine cellar and asked if they had an opening for 4 people to do a wine tasting that afternoon. They happily offered numerous available time and we go to do a wine tasting within the hour! We were very excited we did not miss out. Lori was the staff to help us I believe and she was great! My partner and I were there this time last year after getting engaged and she was also the one who did our tasting a year ago. She happened to remember us and was very helpful giving us the idea of a possible intimate cermony/reception there. My only disappointment was that they were sold out of my favorite wine "Dreamcatcher" as we were a week too early for its release. However Lori indicated that the liquor store in Osoyoos may still have some as they had purchased cases to sell. Luckily we did end up finding some there! Very grateful that Lori gave us so much help.

We had a reservation for tasting at the special room at 14:00. We were on time but the lady was not quite ready for us. We had to wait a bit while she set the table and after that it all felt a bit rushed as she was juggling between 3 different groups from different times, so it was not a cordenated experience in the room. She was absolutely lovely and all the explanations about the different glasses used and wine flavours Nd aromas really made the difference. Still I wish the entire staff was in better communication with each other so the experience it’s pleasant and not quite rushed. I feel that if we had the appropriate time to enjoy the experience we might have left with more bottles. We did purchased two tho.
