Even if you aren't heading further east, it is well worth heading out of town a bit to be able to take in the excellent view from the lookout. You get a great view of Osoyoos Lake in its entirety - the Canadian and US sections. At night the lights are great and on clear nights the stars are spectacular.

Quite the drive up there, but the view is excellent. We weren't familiar with the landscape, so after the viewpoint we continued on the road. If you don't have a set destination forward, don't do that - there's nothing else to see.

This lookout is by far one of the very best in the Okanagan Valley. It offers breath takings views of Osoyoos Lake and amazing overviews of orchards and vineyards in valley below. Well worth the trip and stop.

From that small spot on the mountain, by the highway, you have a beautifull view of the lake and the valley.

You can see from the USA border to almost Oliver. We went during the day and also at night to see the Perseids meteor shower. You can only access it from the highway coming out of town, as the highway coming into town has concrete barriers up to prevent accidents.

After a series of switchbacks and runaway lanes you arrive at the pull out and simply have to stop. It's quite amazing to look out over the lake at the vineyards, fruit belt and true pocket desert, unlike anything else in the country. That's Washington state to the south and the start of the magnificent Okanagan Valley to the north.... More

One can see south from Oroville in the USA to almost Oliver in the north being a distance of about 20 miles of the South Okanagan Valley. To the west the Mt.Chopaka Range in the US looks wonderful.

Stopped here around 9:30 am and enjoyed the beautiful view of Osoyoos Lake and the surrounding area. If you want some photos of the scenery and with your family, then definitely stop by here! We stayed close to the Rattlesnake Canyon Amusement Park, and it was only 10 minutes drive away from there.

Being 1600 feet above the city, it was the perfect place to see the beautiful stars of the Milky Way above us, and the tranquil city of Osoyoos below us
