Good to walk with family
Mar 2021
Nice clean area, lots of tables and benches to rest or eat at. Always busy, good for family walks, bike rides, and running trails. Can skate on the pond in the winter, pretty views in the fall. Good area to go for walks or hikes especially during Covid!

Lots of fun in the winter.

I went there last weekend at the temperature -9c. The lake was frozen and people are doing skating, hokey on the lake. You can walk on the lake from the Conservation Park to the suspension bridge. It was quite beautiful. There were also nice spots for tobogganing. It was a fun afternoon for your family since we are all stuck at home during the pandemic. Now I am not sure if you are supposed to go out with friends although I saw groups of young people doing hokey shoot around.

Great Escape from Being Cooped up at Home!!
Sep 2020
During our COVID 19 lockdown and other alerts, we were looking for a place with space and for my kids to run around and have fun. A friend mentioned Milne Dam Conservation Park as a place we can go and have some fun without worrying about crowds. I had been to this park before, and it just slipped my mind about it. I packed up the kids, got some pizza from Little Ceasars, and went there for a picnic.

The park is huge and although we were intimidated by all the cars being there, we were surprised to find how spacious the park was. Despite the fact that there were many people there, there was so much room for us to be safe and be physically distanced from other people. We found a few empty picnic tables by the water and had a nice lunch under a tree with lots of shade. It was a warm early fall day and the trees had yet to start turning colour.

Once we finished our picnic we spent the rest of our visit exploring the park. There are trails and marked paths all over the park and in the woods as well. We explored all afternoon and had a great time. We needed to burn all those calories after a pizza lunch.

The park itself is very clean, well maintained, and for the most part, the restrooms were clean as well. There is a fee to enter the park which only cost us around four dollars. There are a few different parking lots and parking is available and since cars are coming and going, we were able to easily find a parking spot within minutes of arriving. The overall experience was amazing and the kids had a great time. I highly recommend this park.

Visited this beautiful park and dam. Very impressed - clean, peaceful with lots of amenties. Perfect for families and anyone who loves the outdoors. Whether you are exercising, meditating, or just having a nice picnic, it is just the place to go. So happy for the bridge and comfortable walking pathways. Highly recommend.

Living close to Milne Park
Jul 2019
Milne Park is not only close by but it is well kept. Love to go there and take a small picnic. The atmosphere is serene and peaceful. The pond is very calming. although I had an incident there summer time. When my son just bought a canoe, we went there and some man kept waving to us as he had got his line stuck in the pond. I tried to ignore but my husband kept urging me to help, soo we rowed out to help. Then when I tried to pull the line free, I overbalanced and we capsized. People ran to help us in 2 - 3 ft feet of water. Ha ha! So much for excitement in Milne Park. Not to mention the thick guck we fell into. What a big mess. As we live nearby my son had to go get me towels clothes and shoes. Wish there was a shower.

We have our annual company picnic there every year, we use the lakeshore pavilion, has cover, overlooks a little lake, grounds are kept immaculate. Well worth the cost.

Good spot for a walk or a picnic
May 2019 • Couples
We often come to this park for an easy walk for a few hours when we don't have time for an extended out of town forest hike. The park is relatively flat, with mostly paved or gravel walkways and there are lots of benches and picnic tables scattered throughout the park to sit or have a lunch.

Also lots of parking and enough space to not feel you are infringing on other people or being infringed upon space-wise.

There is a major trail that extends both east and west from the park if you want an extended walk for several hours, but be advised that it mostly winds between subdivisions, the back of shopping plazas and near Highway 7 which is noisy. The extended trail going east from the park has the potential to be really fun if they ever complete it and open the bridge at the dam leading towards Markham Road. This, in theory, would allow you to circumnavigate the lake in the park, which would be a lovely walk. Hopefully the path and bridge at the dam will be completed soon!

The park is normally open but even some days when the entrance gates are closed to cars you can just park at the nearby shopping plaza on Highway 7 and walk down to the park. In the winter they still normally plow the driveway leading through the park to the parking lot which is easy to get into and out of.
