The buildings are excellent but are not left open. Just look at the map of the buildings and choose a few buildings you want to see inside. Then ask for a tour. Staff are history experts and happy to show you are around. The houses, sawmill and blacksmith shop and store were our favourites. The big new museum building has... More

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you had a wonderful time. The buildings are opened during special events, like Applefest and Scaryfest. Scaryfest is coming up, and our Blacksmith forge will be in action. Have a great day! More

Came with a three year old and a 14 year old. They really enjoyed the construction exhibit (especially the roller coaster construction). The outside area is beautiful -- love the old buildings and the trees. It was disappointing that you couldn't get into them easily. Found out halfway through our visit that we could ask the front entrance staff about... More

Kind of empty here without events, I picked the place because I stayed in Monte Carlo Inn, it's a bus at the front of hotel and can transfer one bus to here. The exhibition is poor without organized things.

Thank you for your review and feedback. I apologize for your poor experience here at Markham Museum. Construction City, our latest exhibition, has been the highlight of several programs and camps this year. Markham Museum offers school groups and camp groups the opportunity to explore the exhibition through STEM based activities, learning about the forces of gravity, inertia, and momentum.... More

Attended a beautiful wedding here. Unique, vintage casual but very classy. Beautiful grounds to wander and attentive staff.

We were invited to the museum for a children's birthday party. It was an amazing first visit for our family! The kids had an opportunity to participate in a scavenger hunt outside, which was run by one of the staff. They had a great time and the parents followed with their cameras. Then they had a quick snack of smores... More

There were about 150 guests and more than enough parking spaces. The reception was outdoors under a big top tent and use of the gazebo for photo booth as well as a large shelter for dancing. They were able to set up large audio speakers and so they were able to use microphones and DJ equipment for music. The event... More

The Markham Museum always has something going on, it is a nice place to visit and go for a stroll and see all the heritage buildings that are located at the back. Great for pictures and learn about history from the pioneer times.
