For a first time kayaker, they never tell you how much struggle and exercise is involved in those pretty instagram pictures you always see. It probably didn't help that my friends and I were always going against current the entire time for our 2 hour rentals. What started as a beautiful sunny day turned into a very ugly, windy, cloudy... We booked 2 double kayaks online and they were waiting for us when we got there, even though we were 25 min early. They gave us briefing and let us have the extra time. Super nice friendly people. Will certainly do it again.

The service was excellent. The staff had our boats ready on the beach and helped bring them from the water to shore. The kayaks were in good shape. I was very disappointed with the spray skirts, they were very old and water leaked into mine and my partners. It made for a wet and cold journey.

Our group of 17 people had a pleasant experience of First Nations history. We had 2 canoes and 3 guides: James and Les who were skippers, and Cease the cultural narrator. It began with the signing of waivers and safety explanations as well as a brief appreciation of the cultural importance of the lands we were on. For first time... More

Ok, so first - in full disclosure - this is my husband's company. Having said that, I had never actually been on one of his traditional canoe tours. I finally had the chance to do one last summer. Wow! It was awesome! I know a lot of about his culture (Tsleil-Waututh Nation), but I learned so much from being out... More

My husband and I started going Kayaking when we were in Hawaii and then thought to ourselves why not doing it in our own backyard. So we started coming here and we come back at least once a year for another couple of hours out on the ocean! This year we brought his parents and they LOVED it. Will come... More

We've rented kayaks from the Belcarra location a number of times over the years. The service has improved since the days when you didn't know if they'd open or not. The staff is friendly, if a bit casual. They don't exhibit the professionalism of an outfit like Deep Cove, but that can also be seen as part of the charm... More

We had a wonderful afternoon with our cultural guide Cease and Guy leaving from Cates Park, paddling up Indian Arm in the ocean-going canoe. It truly was a once in a lifetime experience and we all had a tranquil and relaxing time. Both Guy and Cease were wonderful singing to us and giving us a glimpse into the Tsleil-Waututh Nation.... We arrived approx. 15 mins. before our reservation. Found it a bit difficult to find as Belcarra Park is huge and Takaya Tours is located at the picnic area. We were outfitted with our equipment which was all in great shape. We were given a briefing on where the best area to go was and helped out on the water.... More
