Long live Steveston, the fishery, and the Japanese Canadian community
Just a great combination of old heritage buildings, a great small post office/museum with helpful background, the stunning cannery exhibits, great food and friendly people. Bravo history! And thanks to the survival of the Japanese Canadian community.

A relaxing sea-side town filled with history and fun shopping experiences.
A real gem on the coast of Richmond! Great place to decompress from the frantic big city to the north. There are four museums located in this picturesque town (Tram, Post Office, Cannery, and Shipyard) and all are worth a visit. The town hosts a diverse shopping experience guaranteed to put a smile on every face. Check out the working wharf for a great sunset snapshot and enjoy a relaxing stroll through Garry Point Park.

    Absolutely Charming & traditional
Even more amazing than I expected, the local friendly atmosphere & welcoming manner from everyone I encountered on my visit was just wonderful. We staid in the Water Front hotel, our suite was facing the waterside, wonderful for walks & close walking distance to all the shops & restaurants, great gift shops, fantastic ice cream, & really great food to choose from. Coffee shops & also boat trips. My favourite was walking along the front harbour looking at all The fresh caught fish market day. A truly wonderful first experience of visiting Canada, both me & my husband agree we will revisit in the future.

Steveston is a fun place to bring out of town guests giving a 4.5/5 for this experience. Recently, Friday June 30th boat fresh shrimp off one of the boats at the fish docks, as we havw done in the past. The particular boat we have not bought from before, (very aggressive sales lady). She was nice and I felt the price and quality looked great. She even offered ti pack in ice as we had a bit of a drive home, how awesome. Not known until we arrived home in White Rock that we were given smaller shrimp that I had asked for, and the shrimp had a lot of broken parts, partial tails, hum. When I slightly stir fried in butter with seasoning, the shrimp fell apart and were mushy. We did not trust the freshness of these and threw all three pounds away. Needless to say we will not be buying here again, the frozen shrimp from Costco is so much better.

I went here on a spur of the moment idea.I'd never been here in all my years of living in Greater Vancouver BC.It's a really nice Location The Road & Wooden Board Walk where the Fishing Boats are all docked remind me of The White Rock Main Drag a lot. There's people here there & everywhere in this Tourist Part of Richmond.I found however a free Public Parking Spot that gives you three hours..👍.There's as expected Fish & Chip Shop & Restaurants in abundance in this Area.If you have a Meal you'll probably pay a lot more than you would in a Regular Chippy because of the beautiful setting & Location. There was also a Waterfront Trail Path Area a few Kilometers from here where people go to bycicle, walk & jog where you can see Jets taking off in The distance at YVR International Airport in another Part Of Richmond I thought that was kind of neat.I would recommend someone to check out this Location even if they're further out I'm 20+ Miles away from this but i did enjoy seeing this distant Part Of Richmond.

Had a few hours to kill, so we decided to head down to Steveston Village. It was early winter so there were not a lot of people there. All the outdoor seating for restaurants were closed up or covered. It is a very quaint little village to walk about though. The waterfront with the various shops was interesting.
We were there during sunset and it made for some very beautiful photos.
After dark, because it was the Christmas season, there were many lights up and some displays. It looked entirely different from the daylight.
I could easily see spending a few hours here in the summer, sipping on a drink on one of the patios watching the crowds go by.

A number of retail spaces, however, all seemed to be empty in one large section which seemed quite odd. Other than that, a great place to wander on a sunny afternoon.

This is one of the tourist hotspots of the Greater Vancouver area. Usually, in the summer months the pier and sidewalks are packed with people, the restaurants are hopping and the energy pervades the atmosphere. Perhaps because it was a weekday but most likely due to the pandemic, this recent summer day Steveston was quiet and relaxed. No one on the docks, the stores mostly empty, and so much space to walk around that social distancing was not an issue. Still, it was pleasant to kill a few hours and enjoy the sunshine.

A couple of days ago, I went to Steveston Village because one friend recommended it and I have to admit that I didn’t like it at all. It didn’t have many places to sightsee except for the port. I think traveling to this village isn’t worth it. There are better places to visit.

We had an hour to kill before getting on the ferry and I love Steveston Wharf so we decided to go there for a walk and some fish and chips. It’s such a beautiful area and I love all the fishing boats. Only downfall was the traffic getting out and on to the highway….wow. Bad planning on the city here.

We always visit steveston when we visit Richmond. However due to Covid the are was very quiet and the stores and restaurants are struggling to survive. We had fish and chips there just to support a business. The area needs to get back to normal
